Recently switched over from Emby for Android TV to Emby for Android and notice the images (movie posters, movie backgrounds) on the main screen and mostly everywhere else is a pretty low resolution so much that the images look kind of blurry. This is more noticeable on my larger tv than a smaller one. Is this normal? I don't see any settings to adjust the quality of the images. I can only find settings to adjust the size and even if make it smaller, it's still not great quality.. just smaller. Running Emby for Android 3.5.36. I took a photo on my tv display but it's hard to tell in a photo vs looking at it directly in person.

Emby for Android TV app fails login if the server is entered as a bare hostname
MikaelKW replied to MikaelKW's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Thanks, that explains the current behavior. I understand that entering https:// is currently required for SSL connections, and I can use that as the workaround. That said, I think this could still be improved in the app. In most modern clients, if a user enters a bare hostname like "emby.example.com", the app either tries HTTPS first, follows the HTTP to HTTPS redirect correctly, or at least shows a clear message saying that https:// must be included. Right now the failure is a bit misleading because the app just shows "Access token is invalid or expired", but the actual issue is that the app is not using the correct HTTPS URL/not handling the redirect correctly during login. The proxy logs show that the login request becomes a GET ... AuthenticateByName ... 401 when using the bare hostname, while entering https://emby.example.com produces the correct POST ... AuthenticateByName ... 200. So a checkbox would definitely help, but I think the best behavior would be for the app to either: -default to HTTPS when a normal domain is entered without a scheme -correctly handle HTTP to HTTPS redirects during login -or show a clear validation message together with the checkbox such as "Secure connection is required, use the checkbox and choose the https" or something along those lines That would make the setup much less confusing for users behind reverse proxies or Cloudflare as well as for people without the most technical know-how and the ability to actually troubleshoot these sort of things. -
Thank You Luke.. that did the trick! Wrong content type. Never realized this until now and the irony been like this for last three years.

?? I don't care about the corners. I see 4 nearly straight lines here, or better I see 8, because it just doesn't fit, the cover is surely to small. I would be an huge win if it's still with round corners hit the same size. it's not a round peg in square hole. it's just to small. I was always good in math and it's to small for other skins I've tried..

The play store is how those updates are delivered to you. It happens silently when there are new stable releases.
-
It isn't about the size. The treatment you are using has transparent borders and rounded corners and the container the app is showing it in has a background and square corners. No matter what you do with the size this is literally a round peg in a square hole .

How about: https://emby.media/security or https://emby.tv/security where current issues can be communicated quickly, the severity level, mitigating factors, workarounds etc on each bulletin. Also details of reporting security issues very clear on there. What other software vendors do. -

no the metro doesn't look like a case at all. and the corners are not the real issue. it's height and width. do you know in which file the size is maintained? maybe I play around a bit with it?

Hi. If your connection is via SSL it is currently required to enter the "https://". We should make this easier with something like a simple checkbox. -

Is there a way to move media library folders while preserving metadata and watch history?
ebr replied to Arthur0's topic in General/Windows
Hi. You can if you save your metadata to NFO files and your images alongside your media. Both options in Emby. -
I have both "Allow subtitle extraction on the fly" and "Allow subtitle font extraction on the fly" turned on. Does that apply to SUP/PGB subtitles as well which aren't text-based?

Good morning everyone, I just recently installed the new Coreelec-NO nightly and the progress they have made is very impressive, hoping to not have to use the CPM builds anymore. The one issue I seem to be having on this fresh install is not being able to install this add-on, it tells me something about an invalid structure, has anyone seen this before? It seems like a common error but the structure looks fine when I open the zip and check, I feel like there might be something else going on here. Any assistance would be appreciated, my library is quite large and I have grown quite dependant on this awesome add-on. -

Attached are screenshots showing the Drive Management program open on the laptop, with the Media Server hard drive highlighted, plugged into F (where all the content is stored). The USB in E is, as mentioned before, there to ensure that the drive was registered as F when it was plugged in Attached also is pages from the laptop's Emby library settings, showing both Movies and TV have E and F listed as available. As said before, I did try it with ONLY F and ONLY E at different times, but the error persisted On the laptop, the only actual drive is the Media Server one. It came with the C drive setup with the two other sections (Disk 0 and System Reserved) already built in, this was pre-owned by a relative after all so I had no involvement with it before yesterday basically. The only additional portions were the USB in E and the Media Server drive in F. -
It is more likely that your client is not reporting correctly to the server what playback capabilities it has. I suggest you make a full report of your problem, with appropriate logs so that the devs can see what is going on: Paul

Exactly how are you drive mappings? ( Screenshots ) How many drives have you connected? How is your library mapped inside Emby? ( library specific )
