Ginjaninja Tools - Guest Star Cleaner - Remove guest stars from episodes if credited on series
ginjaninja replied to ginjaninja's topic in Plugins
0.2.0.0 Novated to Plugin UI Updated targetting to 4.9.1.90 Slightly tweaked and correct some logging. Removed unwired html/js and entrypoint. AI persuaded me a syncronous operation was more appropriate. I am running this in live, i didnt have to wipe my configuration.xml, it can't hurt to backup your libary.db before updating. I'm getting back into plugin writing now i'm retired. Saw the note about the catalogue, (thanks @Cheesegeezer) , i will make enquiries as to wether i can be allowed into the 'inner sanctum' :-).- 16 replies

Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks. - Today

You are right actually, I noticed now that "Forced subtitles" are active in those episodes, but I saw none, or did not notice, because maybe it was just a translated sign. -

That playback did involve subtitles: SubtitleStreamIndex=3 And I believe that is probably where the issue lies. @softworkzdo you agree? -

Hi, yes this should be resolved for the next release. If you need immediate relief there is the server beta channel. Thanks.

OK, that's not what I asked. Try refreshing the metadata on one of these series and then see how things compare. Also what metadata fetchers are enabled on the library and in what order?

so this project won't work on a host without a dedicated GPU, just a modern APU? Thanks! -

Hi there, what makes you think it does nothing? Sounds like you did not put it in the correct place.

Hi, you can create a new topic.

is this the ony thread to report issues on Vega OS? I got a Fire TV 4k Select in my hands now. I can't playback anything - but I am in a .strm - file only environment... But live tv does not work, either. Where am I supposed to create a topic about that?

It's not just aesthetic — there are solid UX grounds: Scrollbar convention. Vertical navigation always lives on the right edge in left-to-right interfaces. The alphabet index is a vertical navigation tool, so placing it there matches the user's existing mental model. Fitts's Law. Screen edges are "infinite" targets that are easy to hit quickly. The right edge is free, while the left edge would compete with the content. Reading direction. Eye-tracking studies (Nielsen Norman Group's F-pattern) show users anchor their scanning on the left margin, where titles and row beginnings sit. A bar on the left would interfere with that zone and cover the most informative part of the content. Touch ergonomics. Roughly 85–90% of users hold their phone with the right hand, so the right edge falls in the natural "thumb zone" (Steven Hoober's research). That's why Apple has placed the Contacts index on the right since 2007, and apps like Plex and Jellyfin follow suit. The key confirmation: in RTL interfaces (Arabic, Hebrew) everything flips and the index goes on the left — proving the underlying principle is reading direction, not arbitrary taste. So your choice of the right side is the correct one.

Allow text subtitles in the black bar below video on Android TV
Geordie replied to Geordie's topic in Android
Sorry I missed that. I hope my post helps move this forward. Many people will appreciate the option. To be more specific, this is the patch (few lines of code) required to allow exoplayer to render subtitles outside the video frame! No need for a custom renderer or anything fancy. https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv/pull/4816 Feel free to close or delete this! Thanks -
It kinda makes more sense to have it to the left

EmbyVision OCR GPU Edition, CPU Edition Credits Detector new plugin: Beta
EncryptedCity replied to EncryptedCity's topic in Plugins
To everyone following this discussion, I want to address the recent comments and explain why I've decided to stop posting plugin updates on this forum. Recently, I've been accused of being a "copycat" and of simply reskinning someone else's plugin or software. I strongly disagree with those accusations. If someone believes there are technical similarities, they should provide evidence and discuss the matter respectfully instead of making repeated public accusations. I've been a member of this community since November 2021 and have shared my work here in good faith. My goal has always been to contribute, learn, and improve my projects based on constructive feedback. Unfortunately, the discussion has shifted away from technical topics and toward personal attacks, which isn't productive for anyone. I'm always open to bug reports, feature suggestions, and technical criticism. Those conversations help developers improve their work. What I won't continue to engage with are repeated accusations and attempts to discredit my work without clear supporting evidence. Because of how this situation has unfolded, I've decided that I will no longer be posting updates for my plugin on this forum. This wasn't a decision I wanted to make, but I no longer feel that continuing to contribute here is worthwhile under these circumstances. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has downloaded my plugin, tested it, reported issues, suggested improvements, or offered encouragement. Your support has been greatly appreciated. I hope future discussions on this forum remain respectful and focused on technical collaboration rather than personal disputes. Thank you, and I wish the community all the best. -

Realized I just need to scroll down to see the libraries. Now the question is can I remove the posters that take up the entire screen and just have the libraries at the top?
