Given the size of my media library, an in-memory solution won't work; I have to use local disk storage. Otherwise, the sheer number of entries would cause the server to crash, regardless of whether the files themselves are hosted on a cloud server.
-
This is certainly not a concurrency issue; if left unhandled, the posters simply wouldn't display at all. I believe the correct approach is to store the processed images persistently and retrieve them directly when needed.
-
I will look into adding a limit on how many posters it will work on at a time. I don't think it will solve it but i would be very happy to be proven wrong! Will write back when the the feature is ready.

What I mean is, why not store it in a local folder instead of the cache? Storing it in the cache places immense pressure on my server; every load overwhelms the server, especially given the vast amount of media I have.

I haven't enabled those markers, and I have a plugin that extracts media info into NFO files, so that’s not the issue. My images and metadata are stored on the Emby server, not on a cloud server. The problem actually lies with the images.

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

EmbyIcons does not clear the cache on every reboot and only updates items in it's cache that are out of date. Only out of date items will get cleared. When updating the plugin it will also clear the cache for compatibility reasons. Besides that i don't think i can help you sadly. The plugin only reacts on what Emby gives it and it in your case tries to give EmbyIcons a poster on a path that doesn't exist. This is what causes the error in the log. EmbyIcons isn't really that useful for strm files anyway as they in general don't have the information that EmbyIcons needs for adding icons to the posters like for example "4K" and "HDR". You will just end up with posters that have no icons on them until Emby it self populates the video info. From testing i have just made with adding strm files to Emby it's not possible (for me) to get any media info to show for them (thus EmbyIcons have nothing to do). Sorry.

user84 started following Stuttering after pause
-
I think I previously posted on this but can't find it. And it has been a very long time. When I pause media on Roku, then replay, the media stutters, sometimes multiple times. Sometimes I need to stop and restart the get the stuttering to stop. This has been an issue since I started using Roku. I shifted back to Firestick, partially because of this issue, and I'm a bit disappointed it hasn't been resolved yet. What can I do to make it stop?

Ok, thanks. -
I don't have an update yet, sorry.

With that settled now, hopefully you guys like the subtitles on skip back feature.

.66 seems to have resolved the issue.

I frequently refresh individual files within a media library to avoid triggering a full library scan, but the API request times out directly—resulting in errors like: "#Emby Notification# ::: Failed to retrieve subfolders for media library 455635: HTTPConnectionPool(host='172.17.0.1', port=8096): Read timed out. (read timeout=30)"

My media library contains 39,966 movies, 6,373 TV shows, and 247,794 episodes. If everything had to be loaded from scratch every time, opening the library after a restart would be a massive strain—like an explosion of data processing.

I no longer get the playback error message when themes are on now with this version. Thanks
-
My media files are stored in the cloud, while local `.strm` files are used to link to them; all other content—such as images and metadata—is stored locally. These `.strm` files serve as stand-ins for the actual video files in the media library, fetching content from the cloud server only during playback. The `/mnt/share2` directory is actually a local directory.

Did you try turning off playing of themes in settings? I only started getting the error once I turned them on just now.

@AnsellLooking at that log, are you hosting your files on a cloud service? If so i suggest you try and enable "Keep a chached copy of images in the server's metadata folder" and see what happens. Also: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file '/mnt/share2/115open/link/国产电影/南海十三郎 (1997) {tmdb-396296}/poster.jpg'. Emby doesn't seem to be able to find the file at that location and there for fails. EmbyIcons only works with posters that Emby hands to it so this points to the problem not being with EmbyIcons. I suspect the reason the old version of EmbyIcons works is because it's using an old cache key with the old posters. Once that gets changed, which it will at some point no matter what, the errors will come again. When EmbyIcons get's updated it resets the key and has to build the cache again, this is to avoid any stale posters and wrong icons because of possible changes in the plugin. If on a cloud service it can also be that service being slow to respond and causing problems.
