Hi, since the recent update, playback of 4K UHD Remux files is no longer smooth on my NVIDIA Shield when audio passthrough is enabled. Before the update the same files played fine. Setup: - Emby Server: 4.9.5.0 - Client: Emby Android TV 2.1.23g - Player: ExoPlayerLib/2.18.7 - Device: NVIDIA Shield Android TV - Connection: wired LAN - File type: 4K UHD BluRay Remux, MKV, HEVC, Dolby Vision/HDR, Atmos - Example file name: Examble.German.Atmos.DL.2160p.UHD.BluRay.DV.HDR.HEVC.Remux.mkv Issue: With audio passthrough enabled, playback stutters/freezes or gets interrupted. The server log shows the client disconnecting during playback. If I disable audio passthrough, playback becomes stable, but this is not an acceptable workaround because I want to keep passthrough/Atmos and the same HDR/Dolby Vision playback behavior. The Emby on-screen playback info on the TV reports Direct Play, but the server log / PlaybackReporting plugin shows DirectStream. The server serves /emby/videos/390/original.mkv and I do not see ffmpeg video transcoding for this playback session. Observed in server log: - Emby Server Version: 4.9.5.0 - Playback start reported by app AndroidTv 2.1.23g on SHIELD - User-Agent: Emby/2.1.23g (Linux;Android 11) ExoPlayerLib/2.18.7 - Adding PlaybackInfo ... DirectStream - Original MKV is requested via /emby/videos/390/original.mkv - Repeated Range requests from the Shield - Server reports: "Response completed after client disconnected" - No ffmpeg video transcode load/error is visible Expected behavior: The file should play smoothly with audio passthrough enabled, as it did before the update. Direct Play should remain stable and should not freeze, stutter, disconnect, or unexpectedly fall back to transcoding. Additional observation: This is not limited to one movie. I have also observed similar behavior with other media files. Sometimes playback starts as Direct Play, but then Emby suddenly switches to transcoding during playback and the stream eventually stops. This did not happen before the recent update. So there may be two related issues: 1. Audio passthrough causes stuttering/freezing with 4K DV/HDR HEVC Remux files. 2. Some files that should Direct Play suddenly fall back to transcoding and then stop. Workaround: Disabling audio passthrough makes playback stable, but this is not acceptable because I want to keep passthrough/Atmos. Also, when passthrough is disabled, the playback behavior appears to change and HDR/Dolby Vision output does not look the same on my setup. Can you please check whether there was a regression in Android TV audio passthrough / ExoPlayer handling for TrueHD/Atmos with 4K Dolby Vision/HDR MKV remux files, and also whether the Direct Play to transcoding fallback behavior changed in the recent update? I can provide server logs for both cases: - Direct Play / passthrough stutter with client disconnects - Direct Play unexpectedly switching to transcoding and stopping embyserver.txt

The problem is I can't find the directory on my server. I can't find it in the file station or anywhere else.

Have the same issue. It takes a minut (or 2-3) before subtitles is seen. On my android decives there is no problem.

Any update on this? MacOS, iPad and iPhone play multichannel audio all fine with spatial audio on Jellyfin. It's all stereo on the Emby. I hoped it's Premiere feature but unfortunately that's not the case. Can we do something with it? Is this somewhere in the roadmap?

For those of us who run Homebrew stuff on our LG TVs already is it possible to get hold of the .IPK file to install ourselves? It doesn't appear to be part of the Emby's main GitHub.

This looks like an old 2016 K series model. I’ll have to do a test in the emulator. @MediaEmby1968I might need another log with debug logging enabled. Were there any ffmpeg logs?

Does 2.3.9 have all the latest fixes, or do we need another build?

@Luke The problem has occured again, but this time not all library icons dissapeared. I did a Library -> scan all librarys and most of the icons, both primary and miniature, dissapeard but not all. It hasnt been a problem since i did as you suggested but it seems that this overall scan "broke" it. I have no idea why this happens, the Icons are namned the same (Icon-collection-poster-Primary, and Icon-Collection-poster-landscape) so that cant be related since only some dissapears, and there isnt a "broken thumb" in the corner so the issue isnt that the file is corrupt or any folder-permissions. I have tried to use the metadata handler in the left meny and use the padlock icon on all the collection folders to see if that did anything but no luck. I have not made any changes to my collection folder, other than the tip you gave me above, and im all out of ideas.. N/

One of my friends just reported this. They are the only one using an LG TV and the LG app. Im also using CF for the delivery, but playback goes to my reverse proxy. CF hands out the ssl certs, and I have NPM for the reverse proxy and certs on that are from certbot. I don't know how old the TV is, or if it auto updated or something.

je ne pense pas que cela soit un problème ponctuel. Il n'y a simplement pas de "bouton" pour allumer le server Emby après l'avoir éteint. Lorsque je clique sur le raccourci sur le bureau QNAP, la connexion n'aboutit pas. Idem, sur le lien "ouvrir" situé sous l'application. Os adjunto captura del problema que estoy teniendo y es que no me sale el contenido actualizado en la sección de la portada inicial donde viene preconfigurado que nos salte todo lo ultimo en cada una de las bibliotecas. llevo dias intentandolo todo y no se me ocurre nada y no quiero volver a empezar porque es una biblioteca extensa. Si que es verdad que luego en cada biblioteca me meto y ahi estan las caratulas y los metadatos... Gracias adelantadas. Un abrazo a todos.

Hey — thanks for digging into that with devtools, the CORS diagnosis was spot on, and disabling web security to confirm it was the smoking gun. Here's what was actually happening: the plugin's config page was calling the coordinator directly from your browser, cross-origin from Emby's own dashboard. That works fine on a simple LAN setup, but breaks the moment Emby's reached through a reverse-proxy domain that's different from the coordinator's own address — some proxy setups don't relay the coordinator's CORS headers through, so the browser blocks the request outright and shows "Service: offline," even though the coordinator itself is completely fine and reachable. Fixed it by routing those calls through Emby itself instead — the config page now hits Emby's own API, and Emby forwards the request to the coordinator server-side. Your browser never talks to the coordinator directly anymore, so the CORS mismatch can't happen regardless of how your reverse-proxy is set up. It's out now in beta.9 (plugin v0.4.5.0) — you'll need to grab the new EmbysonicPlugin_0.4.5.0.zip, swap it in for your existing EmbysonicPlugin.dll, and restart Emby. Yes. I have the same problem. The worst part is that there's no option to turn it off from the Home screen. The only way I found to make this disappear was by removing the capability from the user—something that wasn't necessary before the plugin. This plugin definitely messes with something and causes a bug.

What version number of the Emby app do you have now?
