"ability to be able to add a collection into another collection. ie: Spiderman Collection into a SuperHero Collection. like i could with mediabrowser with shortcuts. A shortcut? A symbolic link? How did it work in media browser as I have never used it.

This is my stabil, that I don't fool around with. If these curves had there own way, they would end in OOM And my DB values are even lower than what @sa2000 Asked of me, back in the day. Where he treated me like a guineapig for his enjoinment. And I said no "I will not work out his or devs issues" I spend a good fortnight, trying to help. And sadly its still the same mess, It has gone from under 3GB ram 4.8 till 9-10GB in 4.10 And seeing now that more and more are having this exact issue, is just wrong.

Hi everyone, I'd like to suggest an idea to improve Emby's parental control options. It would be awesome to have a "Padlock" or temporary lock option for individual movies or TV shows that admins could easily toggle right from the three-dots menu or from the item's info page. The main idea is that, unlike standard age restrictions which hide content completely, this lock would keep the poster visible in the child's library, but with a padlock icon over it. That way, the kid can see the movie is there, but clearly understands that their parents have temporarily restricted it. If they try to hit play, the app would simply show a restriction message or ask for the admin PIN to unlock it. I think this would be a great feature for everyday family management—like applying a temporary restriction—without having to hide items or reconfigure entire library permissions. What do you all think?

Did you have something specific in mind? I try to mess around them every few years, but never found anything satisfactory. The biggest issue is mostly caused by the player. The web UI one is too limited with the formats it supports so that's only a last resort option and the best player I know for it is kodi, but if the media isn't tagged as movies or tv shows, it handles it extremely poorly when at all so I have to set my tv shows and movies libraries to those if I want it to see it and display the watched status. Even if I were to use something like how videos, it has issues of its own, like for example I have a video with no filename(it's just called .mp4 and emby doesn't see it at all, which is somewhat understandable, but wouldn't be an issue if it simply showed the files, which it should detect as a video since it has a video extension).

The latest stable does seem to maybe have improved things. Still testing but so far it havn't gotten over about 2GB yet.

I agree partially. Do you agree that auto detection can be wrong sometimes? If yes, the "default version" selection I am discussing could be an appropriate answer. Doesn't it ? And for the second point, the "Editions" feature could be very nice, but, IMHO, this feature have to be separated from the "default version" selection. And no matter for me if the Edition selection does have a default. I'm not smart enough to define if it makes sense. It seems to me that we're talking about 2 separate features: - the "Version", bound to quality, biterate, resolution,... - the "Edition", bound to releases, such as Theatrical Cut, Director's Cut, Extended.... Sorry if I'm not as clear as I expect, sometimes my English goes bad.

It’s hardcoding a value that it’s not using, and therefore preventing the correct reverse proxy setup on the NAS.

You can set the public facing router ports in network settings but the local port numbers are not configurable in our synology package. If they’re not configurable then it shouldn’t be a problem that they’re hardcoded in the manifest.

Hey Luke, The UI presents the fields - 'Public HTTP port number' and 'Public HTTPS port number'. It allows the user to enter new values (ie. these fields are editable), and the UI won't allow the fields to be blank. However, after a bit more poking around, it looks like these only control the 'external' port passed to the automatic UPnP mapping (even though I have that feature disabled). AFAICT, changing those values has no functional purpose otherwise. What I can confirm from inspecting the host sockets is that with 'Secure connection mode' setting as either 'Disabled' or 'Handled by reverse proxy', the package never activates port 8920 - only HTTP is ever enabled. I haven't tried loading a certificate (emby intentionally doesn't have access to sensitive paths on my NAS, including certificate locations). The usecase I have is that I'd like to use the reverse proxy on the NAS (which is more secure than my router) to forward inbound HTTPS traffic on port 8920 to local HTTP on 8096, and to activate HSTS (something my router can't do). The only thing preventing me doing this is the EmbyService.sc file, which seems to be telling the Synology nginx reverse proxy that the emby package is using port 8920, even though it isn't. Of course I can work around this by hacking the file (presumably until the next upgrades breaks it) or by mapping a different port and have my router NAT present 8920 to the outside world, but would be nice to have a properly working setup . FYI - the trigger here is that I'm seeing much more scanning/probing of my router ports than I have in the past, and I'm in the process of locking everything down.

Just what I've already laid out. The current feature for versions is for different qualities. Therefore, it makes no sense to have a "default" because this is chosen each time at playback based on current device and conditions. You guys all want a new feature that is "Editions" for which, it would make sense to have a default.
