I could make a setting that disables EmbyIcons and makes it so that it only draws when the pre-draw scheduled task is run. I just don't really see the upside to it and that has the disadvantage of drawing all posters in a library requiring a lot of resources when it runs.
-
I would check the date added values for those movies.

I don't know how else to say this: Today. 1 hr ago. And I'm failing to understand what are both of you trying to explain me.

I don't like the idea of adding more settings, specially once that can confuse people by leaving none-updated posters in the libraries making people wonder what's wrong. It only enhances posters that Emby needs per item basis. So let's say you scroll through a library then only the posters visible have been drawn. If you don't scroll then no more posters will be enhanced as they were not needed by Emby. The same is true for the EmbyIcons cache. If Emby doesn't ask for an item then that item will not be touched. This saves a lot on resources and work. That is the most efficient way of doing it. Your proposal would have Emby download posters and then have the plugin enhance them in the background even on posters that might never get used. That would also turn EmbyIcons into a proactive plugin instead of a reactive one, something i don't want. It would then have to keep running all the time to make sure posters are up to date. If you really want all posters to be drawn in one go there is the pre-draw option in the scheduled tasks. I'm planning looking into changing the drawing queue system and maybe work better with some scaling so smaller images will be worked with to speed it up (nobody uses 3000 x 4000 posters in the libraries anyway). Also planning to add some extra information in the cache to work with so when icon positions have been changed in the settings only posters with those icons will be re-drawn. This will help improve the re-drawing when settings have been saved by a descent amount depending on peoples libraries and settings. In the end, it can be optimized more but the benefits are not game changing.

Added of what? Content/movie?

And he just said we don't track that, so date last content added means date added to the library, not date added to the collection.
-
I think there is still room for optimization in this area; no matter how powerful the server is or how up-to-date the data may be, the user experience will inevitably suffer significantly if high-speed loading cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, since metadata doesn't change on a daily basis, Emby only needs to reprocess the specific media items being refreshed during the refresh cycle.

Hi, doesn't it make it easier to spot which item is a folder and which is not? Anyway, we plan to add an option to disable this.

Nor sure I understood all that: "Date Last Content Added" should be just that (exactly akin to TV Shows): date when last item in collection is added and Sort should reflect that, just as sorting TV Shows by same criteria (Date Last Episode Added) does, when new episodes added. I've just added two new movies to my library (which are part of two already existing collections) - it should've put those two Collections on top of the list, is what I would expect, else what's the purpose of introducing that sort method in the first place?
-
Here's an app I made for fire stick after making the app over 15 times I used the app on firestick called X-plore to install it It connects to your Emby share folders, sorta fun to play around with EmbyPlus.mp4 EmbyPlus-10.0.apk

Sony Bravia TV with EMBY for Andoid TV fails to play
ebr replied to Orionas21's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Those are server logs. I'd like you to please play that item for a few seconds and then follow the instructions to send a log from the app? -
Hey. The movies already existed in your library, right? "Date last content added" is actually "Date added of content". We don't actually track when something was added to a playlist or collection. In the case of TV Series, when the content was added to your library and when the content was added to the Series are the same because that's the only way the content exists.

Thought i deleted all the versions on github. Wanted to make it so people only download from the catalog. Just download the latest stable from the catalog 5.61.0.0. The betas are just that, betas. They should only be downloaded by people who (want to) beta test as they can have unfinished work in them.
-
Hi, wonder what to download? In this tread it is mentioned version 5.61.x.x, can't find it. On GitHub I find version 2.7.5.0 And in Plugin section on the server, I find version 2.9.0.6... This is really messing wiht my head.... The highest number is no where to be found, the GitHub version seems to be lower than the on in the Plugin section... What do I miss?

Managing the media library this way adds complexity; regardless of the database size, the best approach is to handle the work in one go. The right choice is to be able to selectively clear a specific library, or to update the posters only after Emby has updated the metadata.
- Today

i moved to the latest dev build (2.1.8.2) for native (live) playback and am loving this new mode as i can finally change channels quickly and more smoothly than any other modes have allowed. however, i am having an issue where if a channel starts when a bumper would be playing it will always jump to the beginning of that bumper and then loop it indefinitely. if i allow a channel to play until a bumper starts, a bumper will play, repeat once and then the next program will start where it would have been had the bump not repeated (skipping whatever time the bumper took up)
-
Then libraries would have multiple posters looking wrong and not be updated. Better to split up the libraries them self to limit the amount of work the plugin has to do then.

GrimReaper started following The Grand Tour 2026 not present

You likely have TVDB as your primary meta-provider - it doesn't list 2026 series as a separate show but as a Season 7 of the original, 2016, version (and has probably been merged with it). TMDB has it as a separate entry. You can either: 1) Rename all episodes accordingly (as S07Exx) and place it under Grand Tour (2016) folder or 2) Move it out of your TV Shows root folder, scan media library, delete existing NFOs (if any) from that series folder, move TMDB on top of your preferred meta-downloaders, place series folder back, scan media library, lock the metadata once identified, revert TVDB on top.

Neminem started following Showing old/wrong Album Art, must be cached or downloading it from Internet and Collections sorting
-
Added movies to two long-time existing (automatic) collections today, sorting Collections library by "Date Last Content Added" desc. did not bring either of them in front - actually, switching between "Date Added" and "Date Last Content Added" does not appear to change sort order at all (at least on my system).

Showing old/wrong Album Art, must be cached or downloading it from Internet
ColinPostsHere replied to ColinPostsHere's topic in General/Windows
They're all JPEGs. Standard album art. Nothing fancy. The only difference between the Album Art ID3 data I can think of is that I use sizes ranging from 300x300 up to about 1200x1200 (maybe 1400x1400), but I don't think image size is the issue. Emby is definitely NOT using the embedded images in my album for The Firm. In most cases (maybe all other cases, not certain) it does. This is what I'm trying to troubleshoot and resolve at least for The Firm, and I'll document the process so if it happens again, I'll know how to fix without bothering you helpful folks. Or maybe there's a bug in Emby Server that yields this as an intermittent problem. I do enough computer work with developers to recognize how difficult intermittent problems can be to track down. If the Emby team wants one of my files to investigate, happy to provide it. Maybe there is something strange about the file after all (I don't think so, but maybe I'm wrong on that). Lastly, I'm very curious where it's getting the image that it is using. It was the cover image when I first loaded the album, but it's also one of the common online images. So not sure if it cached it from my original MP3 files (which I think I've fully cleared, but maybe not) or if it's pulling it from the Internet (I believe I've fully disabled that capability). Neither of those SHOULD be the case, but seems like it must be one or the other. If I had to guess, I'd guess that it's caching the image and ignoring my efforts to replace/update it. -

Hmm what picture type did you put in there? Some picture types seems not to work, like *.webp Those work with mp3tag but not with enby. But anyways embedded images should have prio.
