I really, really don't like having my Movies and Shows muddled up together, especially when I have selected Shows rather than Movies in my Home Screen's Default Screen setting.

Split your Movies and Shows into separate libraries and you won't have that problem.

The tabs at the top of the library. The Movies and Shows tabs have been combined into a single Movies & Shows tab.

Excellent suggestion to split my library in two like that, works a treat, thanks.

Merge Movies and Shows into a new Movies & Shows tab in mixed content libraries?

Why why why?

Now my entire shows are mixed in movies!

Earlier, I just needed to move shows tab and within 3 or 4 clicks I was able to see my show.

Now I need so many clicks as it's a single folder now!

Its because I have too many movies and 10 or 15 shows.

Hi, yes more options to control this are certainly possible.

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Great to see the Emby for LG 1.0.50 update rolling out — especially the fix for playback errors on older LG models and the new combined Movies & Shows tab, which looks like it could make browsing much more seamless for mixed content libraries! 👏

I appreciate all the ongoing enhancements that the Emby team brings to the platform — it’s always exciting to see improvements that make daily media streaming smoother and more user-friendly.

Thanks for the update and all the hard work behind these releases!

Hello, I updated the TV app, and now I have it again, the "No compatible streams are currently available" error.

I'm using Emby Server v4.9.3.0, the Emby LG TV app v1.0.50, and a Cloudflare tunnel. It was working in the past, as we solved some Cloudflare configuration issues, but now it is not working again (not sure if it's something about the last update or Cloudflare again...).

Here is the log:

Hi,

After the latest changes to mixed content libraries, my setup has become much harder to browse.

As you can see in the screenshot, I use a mixed content library organized like streaming channels/providers: Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, etc. Inside each provider folder, I have Movies and Shows separated.

Before, this worked very well because I could keep one clean provider entry and still browse movies and shows separately. Now, with the new combined “Movies & Shows” tab, everything is mixed together, which makes this type of organization messy and much less useful.

Creating separate libraries for Movies and Shows is not a good solution for this setup, because it would force me to have duplicate provider entries, for example Netflix Movies and Netflix Shows, Apple TV+ Movies and Apple TV+ Shows, etc. That would make the home screen much more cluttered.

Would it be possible to add an option for mixed content libraries to keep Movies and Shows as separate tabs, like before? Even as an optional/legacy setting, it would be extremely useful for users who organize their media by provider, collection, or channel-style folders.

I understand the reason behind simplifying mixed content browsing, but for folder/provider-based libraries this change removes an important level of organization that worked very well before.

Thanks.
