I am pleased to announce that we are now ready for beta testers on our second generation Kodi addon - Emby for Kodi! A whole new way to manage and view your media library!
For a long time we have been battling with the slowness of Python for parsing data from the server - it has been suggested many times to try to sync to the Kodi library - but this was a big project with a lot of technical hurtles.
@marcelveldt took on the challenge and developed a proof of concept. The r

We have some exciting news. Over the next couple of months, Media Browser will become Emby.
Our new home will be http://emby.media
Why are we changing the name?
Media Browser has been a great name over the past several years but we feel we have outgrown it. It is no longer descriptive of what we really are and carries with it some preconceptions in the minds of both people who may have heard about or used us in the past and new people who have never heard of us. We want to change tha
For those using Emby for Windows Store, we recommend installing the Microsoft mpeg2 extension:
https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9n95q1zzpmh4
This will allow the app to decode mpeg2 in-app without having to rely on server transcoding. Once this is installed, the Emby Windows Store app will automatically take advantage of it.

An updated version of the Emby Open Subtitles plugin is currently rolling out.
We have switched from opensubtitles.org to the newer opensubtitles.com
This means you will need to create an account on opensubtitles.com and configure that in Emby Server settings. Until you do that, you won't get any subtitle downloads.
Stay tuned for more developments on subtitle downloading !
Another reminder that, before you update to the next beta server release, you must update MBC to version 3.0.129 or greater.
If you neglect to do this, you will not be able to enter MBC after the server update. MBC will produce an "Invalid Password" error upon entry. If you end up in this situation, either re-install from the web site or update via the Configurator.

Metadata is the backbone of any Emby server. Accurate metadata not only helps you organize your media but also enhances the browsing experience by providing details such as posters, cast information, and plot summaries. In our next how to guide, we’ll explore how to get the best metadata for your media library in Emby and customize metadata to suit your preferences.
Why Metadata Matters

EMBY HOW TO BLOGS
We will be releasing a variety of how to blogs over the next few weeks during the holidays. A lot of people will be home and have some time to "tinker" with their home servers and these little entries will be a great starting point to working more closely with your server. For more in depth knowledge that these blogs do not cover, or any questions that may pop up, please reach out to any of the staff members on the forums in the appropriate channels and we will be glad to
Our move to a completely new hosting environment for our back-end server was completed last weekend and everything appears to be running very smoothly with much better response from the forums and package delivery system.
At the same time, we have returned home to our original web address. Please update all your links and bookmarks to http://mediabrowser.tv
A huge thanks go to BigJohn and Abobader for making this transition so smooth. Please give them both some "Likes" on the forum whe

It has been a while since the iOS client release and thanks to you all your support, it has been a great success. In the last few weeks, I have been working on updating some the client to fix some critical bugs and add highly requested features including a new custom player with seek, playback mode (Direct Stream, Stream Copy etc), higher bit rate support, global search, etc. The update will also see some UI enhancements and huge performance improvements in the app loading times.

Hi Team,
As many of you know, we are currently working hard on getting Emby Server 3.6 released. We would like to take this opportunity to give you some advance information on some of the changes that are coming.
New Levels of Performance Emby Server, as well as all Emby apps will perform faster than ever. The server can now easily scale to massive libraries, and the faster speed and reduced loading times will probably be the first thing you'll notice after upgrading to 3.6.

If you're a fan of FLAC audio, and you use Chrome or Firefox, be on the lookout for Chrome 56 and Firefox 51. Now you can enjoy direct play of FLAC right in your browser without any transcoding! This is a huge development for audiophiles.
And best of all, it's already supported in the Emby web app and Emby Theater web app. You do not need to wait for any server or app updates.
Try it now!
Check out the Emby Theater web app at http://tv.emby.media
If you use Chrome on Android and have Chrome 57 (currently beta) installed, you'll be in for a treat the next time you play media with the Emby web app. We've added support for lock screen controls, which allow you to control playback from the device lock screen.

A User-B
Today, we're glad to announce public availability of the new Emby WMC UI Beta.
It started out as a spare-time effort of Emby developer softworkz, assumed to target only a niche audience of nostalgia and WMC fans, and hasn't been an Emby roadmap project.
But over time, it has turned into something of its own kind, going far beyond just mixing-in some nostalgic visuals like a theme, but rather providing an authentic look and feel, the original modes of operation and behavior, or in short
The Emby central server will be down for a short time on Sunday May 17th as we upgrade our infrastructure. We expect the downtime to last less than an hour and it will take place sometime between 10:00pm and Midnight, Eastern Daylight Time (Monday May 18th 2:00am - 4:00am UTC/GMT).
This will include the emby.media website, the Emby Community forum, and all central services such as Emby connect, Emby plugin catalog, and Emby supporter verification.
Thanks for your patience as we work to p
