Artist xml/nfo

Since updating the server to version 3.0.6000.0 (stable) the data stored in the (music) artist.xml does not populate the artist/album artist overview .... also when you right click the artist and go to edit info the data fields are empty.

 

I reinstalled the server today and saved a new artist via the edit info to artist.nfo .... however the only info it shows in the artist overview is the date ... no bio/website/links etc as it used to.

 

My paths are all fine .. everything else works as it should ..... wanted to check if this is a bug before starting again with adding the info.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are your current .xml files stored in \\SERVER\ImagesByName\artists?

It may be that you need to move them to \\SERVER\ImagesByName\metadata\artists

 

I had a similar issue with art and info for Actors in my movies. Turned out I needed to move the People folders into the "metadata" subfolder. Maybe it's the same issue. If so, maybe move a couple of them, and see if they populate for ya.

 

Or maybe it's totally different! But thought I'd offer an idea!

No they are in my metadata folder along with everything else .. images show up fine just not reading the artist.xml

the xml format for music was deprecated a while ago, probably a year and a half or more. it's all nfo for music now.
