ipad cannot connect to server

i'm stumped. this started maybe 2 or 3 days ago where my ipad emby client will not connect to server. i have reinstalled the app, but still no luck. server is running fine. i have a win7 classic machine using wmc that is accessing server without issue on home network, so it's not a server issue. my samsung galaxy android client connects no issue as well.

usually my server is automatically listed by dns name in the ipad app, however, the app no longer lists the server. my server is at 192.168.1.100 but the client will not connect. even odder is that when i use the browser on my ipad, i cannot hit the server either.

i checked windows firewall on my server (win server 2008 r2), but it is turned off. my router isn't blocking any traffic internally on my LAN, so I am confused what I am missing...

one weird thing I just noticed...when I sign in with emby connect (I almost never use this), emby client resolves a different machine on my network which does not have anything emby installed on it. the one thing the machine does have installed on it is hd homerun prime software. not sure why emby is picking this up as a server. I do not have homerun prime software installed on my emby server. is there something I need to do if I have an hd homerun prime on my LAN and an emby server as well?

I uninstalled the homerun prime software on my other machine. still no go on the ipad...

now that I think about it, this all started happening when the homerun prime appeared on my LAN...but I don't understand why windows/android clients are not having any problems, but my ipad is...

i'm not using https, so is 8096 the only port that my ipad client would use to talk to emby server?

Hi, yes just 8096. I would check windows firewall to make sure any rules weren't added that might be blocking the server app. Also, how are you determining your server ip address? Are you sure that one is correct? Thanks.

ive narrowed it down to hd homerun prime and the ipad app. when i *completely* uninstall all homerun software off my other client, the ipad starts magically working. somehow the homerun app talking to the homerun appliance on my LAN is interfering with the iOS app talking to emby server on my LAN. android apps, win7 clients all okay...still trying to figure it out why/what homerun software is doing...

but to answer your question, I have a internal dns server on my home network, along with an win AD server and everything works great for android/win clients, so yes, I am sure ip and dns name are correct.

take a look at the front page of the emby server dashboard where it displays your local address. does this value change with the hd homerun software installed?
