black screen instead of video

I think this broke between 1.0.38 and 1.0.40.  I am trying to play a TV series in MKV format with AVC video and DTS audio.  When I click play the screen goes black and the timer does not advance, just stays at 0:00.  It plays fine in Windows Media Player of course.  In this case I am playing on the same PC that runs the server.  Log attached.

Hmmm sounds lika a similar problem I got.

It only happens when it switches the frame rate from 24fps to 25fps to match some tv-shows.

At least somebody responded.  I have disabled the automatic frame rate switching, however, as I thought it would help avoid bugs in that feature.  Most of the video I play is 24fps, but I switch frame rate manually before starting Emby.

This log was still taken on version 1.0.40 however it looked like it downloaded the update for 1.0.41. Can you restart ET to allow the update to install and upload another logfile?

Here is the log from version 1.0.41.  Pretty sure it worked with earlier versions, then something broke.

Setting acceleration to DXVA2COPYBACK results in black screen when attempting to play a video.  Setting it to auto works.

Are you using madVR? This has happened to me after trying to play 1080i50 .ts file which stutters and with out of sync audio. If I then try to play an mkv 1080p24 I get the black screen. Rebooting ET solves it temporarily so I have found using EVR+ is the only solution if I want to move between these types of files. In an all mkv world madVR works OK.
