Gaitkeeper 2
I am ready to revert back to Windows 8 and go back to WMC. Can't get Emby Theater to play files in full screen (there's like a 1 foot box all the way around) AND can't get full 5.1 surround?! Am I missing something? Emby for WMC just worked flawlessly. Also, I miss being able to punch a letter on my keyboard and the menu jump to titles starting with that letter. Can we get that going in Theater? Gaitkeeper 2
Also, why am I still a newbie? I've been using Emby since 2009, and been a member of the community since like 2010. Dang.
jordy 284
In Emby Theater, go to Settings / Video Player / Configure Video Renderer / EVR Settings: and change the scaling mode to "Touch Inside" (works for me) or whatever other settings removes the black borders. Cheers

jordy 284
not sure about codecs. I just use the inbuilt codecs (LAV) that come with ET and at this point don't play it thru an amp. so stereo only is ok by me
Gaitkeeper 2
Okay, I got it. Jordy, you put me in the right place, but it was stretch mode that got me where I needed to be for my picture. For the audio, I had to change Audio Bitstreaming from 'Off' to 'HDMI'. Viola! Windows 10 can stay! Still, I would like the keyboard thing to work. It's annoying to have to scroll through 700 movies, and it doesn't go backwards (meaning I can't scroll to the left when I'm in the A's to get to the Z's! Please for the love of all things sacred, let me scroll to the left!!

rarefc3s 1
Those screen adjustments do work. I've set to original size, which shows really small, and touch inside and touch outside both work well. One glitch tough is Emby Theater is not launching in full screen mode and when I click to go full screen the video playing reverts to not filling the screen. I have to go back to window'ed and then full screen and wallah! Maybe setting it to launch upon open at full screen solves this. Emby so far I find much better than Plex and I'd love to pay for it but I am finding some things I don't like. Playing a movie locally on the computer Emby Server is installed on via Emby Thearter, it appears to be transcoding video_ts (VOB file) or the player just loves to use the processor. I'm not on the machine now but it launches a process (vplayer.exe maybe?) that is using the processor quite a bit (30% or so?). I tested playing the same movie in Windows Media Center and it used far less resources. Edited December 15, 2015 by rarefc3s
