Its installed finally.

But Im confused about many things.

1. The login doesnt work. I went in and changed username, but it doesnt accept. And forgot password saves one file to server, which shows a PIN, but there is no where asking for a PIN to reset admin password.

2. How do I drag drop files to my server folder ? If I do, it says permission denied and Ubuntu server doesnt let you know his root login. So, how is it possible to drag drop upload files to the server using WINSCP ?

3. When I open my website www.domain.com:8096, it shows me this, http://prntscr.com/98c7yh

It should show the library, right ?

Why does it show the login ?

4. Is there a way I can load this at my domain directly instead of the port ?

1. Just click on the image that says emby, it should allow you to log in. You can then add and remove users as you wish.

2. How you get media files to your server is up to you, that is beyond the scope of the assistance we can provide and are willing to provide. There are many technologies available such as rsync, ftp, and so on. The technologies you would use would highly depend on how your network is setup, is it a local instance, a vps or something else? Here is a good starting point:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-sftp-to-securely-transfer-files-with-a-remote-server

3. The screen is correct. You need to log in before you can see the library.

4. Yes, you need to run the service as root and change settings within emby, this is not recommended. I would recommend setting up virtual host proxy pass:

https://www.nginx.com/resources/wiki/start/topics/examples/likeapache/

Best of luck.

If you still can't log in, stop emby then clear the contents of directory /var/lib/emby-server, and please read thoroughly when running the wizard.

another question.

Lets say I keep on uploading movies and files to the library.

How do I select their genre ?

Or Emby automatically handles everything like genre, subtitles, screenshot, thumbnails, trailers, cast, etc ?

is it all automatic ?

You can setup you server with different libraries to serve different types of media (movies, tv shows, books, etc).

Once you add your files to the selected folders on your server, emby will scan these folders on scheduled tasks and the content will be available through the libraries.

There's a lot of useful things you can set up, take a look to the wiki for more informations.
