Wob76 22
Just wondering if it is possible to have the microphone button trigger the in app search, rather than the main menu\global search? I am sure one of my other apps maps the search in app, but it might be a google app and hence have more permission. It would be nice to be able to trigger a search with the button rather than having to navigate up to the search icon on screen. Thanks, Wob
ebr 14912
No. Just like on your phone - that button is hard-wired to the global Google search.
Wob76 22
Thanks ebr, I thought that might have been the case, but I was sure I had another app that grabbed control of it, must have been a google app or something. Wob
ebr 14912
If you find a non-Google app that does it let me know and I'll try to investigate.

Wob76 22
I completed forgot to reply to this, distracted with out issues I found the app I was thinking of, I don't have many on my Nexus Player, anyway it is Netflix, when you press the mic button in the Netflix App it brings up the Netflix Search rather than the Global Search. Interesting thing is the Netflix Search doesn't even support the microphone. Thanks, Wob
ebr 14912
The docs specifically say that that button press is not delivered to applications but I've tried something for the next release. We'll have to see if it works.

CBers 6771
It works! What can we do to test this?
ebr 14912
What can we do to test this? Hit the hard microphone button on your NP remote when in an Emby screen. It should now take you to our search (and listening for voice) instead of the global one.

ebr 14912
Will it make it to the FTV? Not unless Fire OS 5 supports it. Right now, the Fire gives no access to the search feature to apps. They want you searching Amazon.
CBers 6771
OK, thanks. I'll try on my NP tomorrow. Not had time today, but thought I'd try FTV while I thought about it
Wob76 22
Fantastic news ebr, nice work! Do we need to side load a version from somewhere for this? The version in the store is 1.0.80g from the 18th August. Thanks, Wob

I have to back out to the main Emby menu and start again.
