Legacy Browsing...ugh.

Calling it legacy means one thing: you'll kill it eventually as all things 'legacy' go.

I have 3 "whatevers" now (used to be collections I believe):

* Kids (combo of TV and Movies)

* Parents TV

* Parents Movies

I need Legacy View to show them, otherwise your more 'modern' view combined all TV together and all Movies together.

I believe this was done under the guise of "unified look/feel" nonsense Microsoft pushed to get tablets to replace PCs.   Look what it got them.

So I vote this push of Legacy View as one of the more ridiculous things that's been forced on us for undisclosed reasons.

ebr and Luke have both mentioned more than once that Legacy View in MBC will not be going anywhere.

Even if it does go, you can configure the current system to give you "legacy view" without checking that box - on the config page that says "combine views" just uncheck all your collections.

Your post is a little confusing in that the title and the final sentence both make it sound like you dislike the legacy view - I guess you meant that you don't like the word "legacy".

Maybe when MBC gets renamed Emby for WMC (or whatever) - Legacy View could be renamed "Classic View" - would that sound better?

Yip the change that brought legacy view to MBC made no difference to me as my folders/views were like that anyway via the server as Adrian said.

I've been trying to find the page on the server where this is set - and it seems to have been moved - can you find it @@Latchmor ?

But, it is available from MBC > Config Menu > View Configuration  - then simply uncheck all the folders listed under "My Views" (select folders to be grouped into views).

Hi, can't access just now but its under user prefs when you click on your user icon top right. Uncheck everything you don't want grouped.

Oh, yes - that's right. Thanks.

I could have sworn it was under Users on the Dashboard - I'd forgotten all about the User Preferences section.

You can also get there by clicking the "Edit" button on "My Views" on the web client home page.
