Episodes of a series run episodes of ANOTHER series

I have Mac Mojave 10.14.6, Google Chrome Version 77.0.3865.90, Emby 4.2.10. I have a problem with TV series. By default, when I run an episode of a series, it runs an OTHER SERIES episode. As can be seen in picture 2, an episode of the Twin Peaks series shows a "Version: 1x05 - Peaky Blinders" box and actually runs the specified episode of Peaky Blinders. If I press the "Split versions apart" button, it is automatically corrected. But I have to do that in each and every episode of the series and as long as I restart the Emby server. Something is obviously not working right. What is it?

What is the folder structure of that library?  But from your screenshot your episodes appear to be merged into multi version as you have a version drop down box.

TV is restrictive on structure and naming.

I've renamed all the files and it seems to be working well now. Thank you.

Hello again,

False alarm. The problem is not solved.

I've renamed a lot of files. This is my current folder and file structure.

Folders: "Los Soprano - Temporada 1", "Twin Peaks" and "Chernobyl".

Files:

Los Soprano - Temporada 1/Los Soprano - S01E01.mkv

Image is not accessible.

But if Los Soprano - Temporada 1/Los Soprano - S01E01.mkv is your structure it is not supported.

Thank you. I have renamed the entire structure. Now I have it like this:

Los Soprano
   Temporada 1
       Los Soprano - S01E01.mkv
       Los Soprano - S01E02.mkv
       ....

   Temporada 2
   ....

Twin Peaks
   Temporada 1
      Twin Peaks S01E01.avi
      Twin Peaks S01E01.avi
      ...

Juego de Tronos
   Temporada 1
      Juego de Tronos S01E01.mkv
      ...

In spite of everything, the episodes of Twin Peaks and The Sopranos reproduce episodes of Game of Thrones, as can be seen in the images attached.

Are there nfo files in your series folders?  Something is definitely wrong as the Series display names are wrong, both series show the same description, wrong studios and genres.

What IMDB, TMDB, Trakt linked id are (metadata external ids) listed?  Since there is not TVDB link I would assume they are still misidentified.

And a screen shot of folder structure and content of one of these series.

Hello,

Yes, I have the video files (mkv and/or avi), nfo and jpg files (poster and photos).

I include some metadata of one video (The Sopranos) about external ids.

Your first image is a season 1 folder and it contains a tvshow.nfo.  So to me your folder structure would still appear to be broken.  Or there is metadata within your folders that needs to be cleanup.

The metadata are created automatically. I have not created them.

So, what is the solution? I'm not an expert.

Here is the tvshow.info file:

For generations they've used rod and reel to catch the elusive bluefin tuna. They depend on these fish for their livelihood, and the competition is brutal. Over the next 10 weeks, the most skilled fishermen will set out in the frigid waters of the North Atlantic in hopes of catching the valuable bluefin tuna. When one bluefin can bring in as much as $20,000—they'll do whatever it takes to hook up.</plot>

Assuming you have the correct Series, Season folder structure just delete the tvshow.nfo file in your season folder and perform a library scan.

You may want to delete all the metadata and image in the folders and allow Emby to get them again.

Good. I have deleted all .nfo and .jpg files. I have renamed the directories and files "Los Soprano" to "The Sopranos" and then updated the metadata. And I got this.

I'm not an emby expert, but I'm not an idiot either. This is not normal and something is fatally wrong with emby.

I have completely uninstalled the Emby Server application and reinstalled it. When I say that I have completely uninstalled it, I am saying that I have completely uninstalled it: the executable and related folders. I reinstalled it after downloading it again from the network. Why the hell do I get all my previous configuration? Where is this configuration stored? Isn't this related to my problems? Do I have to send Emby to the trash?

Each screenshot has only shown a partial image of your setup can you show a screen shot of your libraries folder setup, the screen shot would suggest you are pointing directly sat the series folder, as that is the only way to get that title in the top left.  Libraries folder can not be pointed directly at Series, it should point to parent folders that contain Series and/or Movies.

That's enough. I have tried Plex Media Server and it has served me all the TV series correctly at the first time.

The only difference is Emby is more restrictive on your library setups as the wiki's show.

I think they are probably just being merged due to having the same tvdb id's on the series, which could be caused by nfo files created by previous scans. If you go into your settings for the TV library and uncheck the option to automatically merge series, then run a library scan, I bet this will be resolved.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !

This image to suggest a structure/library issue, as this would point to a library named The Soprano.

So we would need to go over everything from this libraries setup to the exact folder structure.

Yeah, you're right. But there are still erratic behaviors. In all cases, after creating a TV series and scanning the files, Emby ALWAYS assigns to ALL TV series the poster and the name of... Wicked Tuna! (which is what appears in the tvshow.nfo file). I have to fix them one by one, setting the identity by entering the rightful series name and IMDB id.

As serie metadata downloaders I have: TheMovieDB and The Open Movie Database.
As season metadata downloaders I have: TheMovieDB.
And as metadata downloaders of episodes I have: TheMovieDB and The Open Movie Database.
