nnylray 14
Hello, lately I've been noticing that the loading circle has been showing up periodically during video playback. I assume it's trying to buffer the video? However, the video never pauses, so maybe the buffering isn't needed at all? After all, the video is only playing over my wired local network. At any rate, I'd like the loading screen to not show, or at the very least be shown in the corner. It is very distracting in the very center of the video. Help is much appreciated, thank you. Luke 36887
Hmm, strange. Do you remember the navigation steps you took to start playback? Can you try to repeat this and make note of that? Thanks !
nnylray 14
Just using Emby Theater normally, navigating to a movie and then pressing play. The loading circle just happens intermittently every now and then during the movie. I'm noticing it a lot more lately, but I cannot narrow down the cause. Luke 36887
Thanks for the report. We'll take a look.
nnylray 14
I'm still experiencing this same behavior. The loading circle shows in the middle of the video at random times for no apparent reason. The video never pauses, so I don't know what the issue is.
hstamas 153
I find this happens to me if I navigate too quickly going back and forth between items then hitting play. Emby seems to continue to work just that the busy spinner is superimposed over the video. I have to restart the app to clear it.
Luke 36887
I have not been able to reproduce this. @@daedalus has mentioned this before. Do you have steps to reproduce?
hstamas 153
I have not been able to reproduce this. @@daedalus has mentioned this before. Do you have steps to reproduce? Other than doing a lot of quick navigation, no but it’s pretty consistent and often results in a lockup. Edited May 28, 2019 by hstamas
nnylray 14
It's a hard thing to reproduce, it just happens, a lot. My question though is why is it possible for the loading circle to occur during playback? The player must be allowing it for some reason. Would there be a way to just block this behavior? Luke 36887
That's not really the point. If the loading swirl is coming up then that means there's some kind of background processing occurring and we don't want that during video playback.
Guest asrequested
It usually happens when there's a change in the library. It's probably got something to do with some kind background refresh.
nnylray 14
Well how should I go about diagnosing this? Is the processing in Theater? Or is it on the Server? I can try clearing caches, reinstalling, removing plugins, etc.
Luke 36887
It's probably Theater being notified of some event on the server and reacting to it.
FrostByte 5024
I started noticing this on the Samsung ET app also. Like hstamas says it's very easy to duplicate just click FF on the remote several times. Eventually the system will catch up and the video will start playing again, but the circle will still be spinning around. Not sure if this version of ET has chapter skip, but the Samsung one no longer has that option which forces you to click FF several time in order to find the spot you want
Luke 36887
I believe this should be resolved now. Thanks. @@daedalus, @ i thought there was another topic about this with more users but I can't seem to find that one now. Thanks.
Guest asrequested
I think it might be buried in the testing area.
