Problems scanning movies library

I am using Emby on my QNAP TVS-1282, with all video files being hosted on the same NAS device. It has been working great until recently. I added some new movies to my Movie library, and after adding them, they weren't showing up.  Seems like they weren't being scanned into the library.  Prior to this, I had upgraded Emby to the latest version, and I have noticed a few other posts having similar issues.  After dealing with other strange issues in my QNAP (unable to install/reinstall/remove apps, among other things) I reinstalled QTS and reset the NAS. I reinstalled Emby and strangely, all my settings from the original install were retained. Knowing this shouldn't be the case, I uninstalled and reinstalled Emby.  At this point I had to setup Emby from scratch, create new libraries, etc.  I have 4 libraries: Intros, Movies, Theater, and TV Shows. Once setup I went to scan all libraries. Intros, Theater, and TV Shows all populated correctly, however, Movies is now blank.  What started out as not scanning new movies has turned into not having any movies in the library.

Attached is the latest log file, I did a rotate log file, restart emby server, and scan library using the "..." icon from Movies thumbnail on the libraries page.

Hi there, what folder have you added to your Movies library? What about your Theater library?

Intros: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Multimedia/Intros

Movies :  /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Multimedia/Movies

Theater: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Multimedia/Theater

TV Shows: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Multimedia/TVShows

Intros is set as "Home Videos"

Movies is set as "Movies"

Theater is set as "Home Videos"

As a test, I installed Emby server on my laptop and set up the movie library and all movies scanned in and work as expected, so nothing's wrong with the folder or files.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this?  I've uninstalled and reinstalled Emby multiple times, my QNAP did a firmware update (including kernel), and still not showing any movies in the Movie library.

Hi there, can you please run a library scan and then attach the emby server log? Thanks !

Seems like this part of your log might be relevant. Perhaps create a new folder and share and just move your movies there.

So it seems somewhere along the line, Emby became more sensitive to special characters. Something that scanned before, would not scan now and apparently cause it to not scan the library at all. I did notice this in the logs before, but also saw similar errors in the TV Shows library, so I dismissed it as the cause. Once I renamed the one movie folder Autómata (2014) to Automata (2014) everything started scanning. It also had added an empty folder Aut.@_thumb which I also deleted. I assume this .@_thumb folder should have been placed within the directory, but when it reached the special character it didn't know what to do.  Hopefully this helps pinpoint the cause and maybe help others that are having the same problem.

Luke, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks, I had seen this and corrected it, that was it. You replied before I posted my last message.
