Emby For Fire TV connection Problem

Hi there,

 

i tried to use Emby on Fire TV but it wont connect to my server over internet. I started the app set the specific server name and port and click on connect, after that i was immiedeltiy presentet with the start screen.

The normal android app on android phones with same server and port settings runs without any problem.

 

Any idea why i cant set the server on fire tv emby app?

Hi.  You were presented with what start screen?

 

Are you trying to use https?  If so, you will have to have a certificate the Fire will accept.

Hi, i am using https, with valid letsencrypt certificate. I will check if the fire will acceppt the letsencrypt but it should

EDIT:

 

I finally got it working, i just installed the root ca and the inter ca certificate of my certificate chain on to the fire tv. Thats quiet easy:

 

First save the root and inter certificate to your computer

Than upload it to googledrive

On fire tv download the es file explorer

Once opened the file explorer choos cloud storage and login into your googledrive

choose the rootca first to download, fire tv will automaticly prompt with certificate installation, so you just need to give a name and press install

proceed with the inter certificate the same

 

after that i was able to login with https on my fire tv!

 

Thanks for the hint @@Luke, because the app does never show any error about certificate issue may you can prompt the certificate issue when trying to connect...
