Libraries (treat as one), Moved or Removed?

Prior to updating an hour ago there was a setting in user profiles that allowed libraries to be treated as one, has this been removed or moved?

I have my tv series seperated as TV Series (Current) and TV Series (Ended) and users could previously have them treated as one library if they desired, since the update they have seperated for all users and i cannot find the setting anywhere for this.

yes... exactly!!!

In Emby Server 3.x there was an option to bring several libraries with the same content type (e.g. movies or tvseries) together and handle it like one.

This option is missing in Emby Server 4.0.

Will this be fixed?

yes i see, but it doesn't accomplish what it previously did.

Hi.  Exactly what were you doing before that the new method won't accommodate?

Edit: Figured out the problem. Turns out that one show, Journey to the Edge of the Universe.mkv breaks the folder structure of my library... Weird. Thing is though, that show has been there forever, is identified correctly by Emby, and has all the metadata and fan art images etc. If I move "Journey to the Edge of the Universe.mkv" out of the library, the folder structure works fine once again. If I put the .mkv back, the folder structure breaks again. Any idea why this could be the case ?

Hi there, I don't want to hijack the OP's thread but I too am so far unable to accomplish what I used to do with a library that had multiple folders... Here's my problem after the update.

I have a Library called Educational that has content from 2 folders. One folder is E:\Educational\TGC Online Courses; It's all lectures from professors (not tv shows). The other folder is called E:\Educational\TV Shows & MiniSeries and it's full of education TV shows. The path for this library was E:Educational, NOT E:\Educational\TGC Online Courses + E:\Educational\TV Shows & MiniSeries!

Before the update, you would click on the Educational library and that would take you to a page where you would either select the TGC Online Courses, or you would select the TV Shows and Miniseries. After the update, the TGC Online Courses option is still there and works fine, but where the TV Shows and Miniseries should be, it now simply shows one of the shows that's IN that folder. I'll attach a screenshot of what I mean.

Where it says Journey to the Edge of the Universe, it should say TV Shows and Miniseries, and Journey to the Edge is one of the shows IN that folder...

The TGC Online Courses folder works fine though...

If rather than pointing to E:Educational I instead point to each of the two subfolders individually, than all the content from both folders shows up in the library, but it's all MIXED TOGETHER and that's what I'm trying to avoid! :)

As stated i had 2 libraries TV Series (Current) and TV Series (Ended) users were able to keep them seperate or check the option to treat them as one if so desired, i cannot recreate this using the new system which in all honesty seems no different to me apart from being able to remove access to certain drive folders.

Why not just make them one single library?

Then if you want to separate them within that library, there are two options:

  • Using the series status filter
  • Or using the Folders view, which will allow you to see the two folders added to the library.

@@Sketchy, what do you see when you click on journey to the end of the universe? It is probably treating that folder as a tv series, from the looks of it. Thanks.
