Need some Roku HDR help

I have added the various TV brands 4K HDR demo videa to a USB plugged into the TV directly, and also to a test emby library.

When these, or some other ripped HDR movies are played from the USB, the picture mode offered the HDR options (HDR Standard, HDR Vivid etc)

TV HDMI set to enhanced (which is needed for HDR).

Roku is a streaming Stick plus - it can do 4K and HDR (Im told with some googling).

But when played back from emby server, I never get the HDR options from the TV picture menu.

Emby says it is 'direct streaming'.

Any ideas ?

I will likely be getting a Nvidia Shield eventually but thought I would give this a wack.

Yes.  My TV supports all this - and of course - HDR works from the USB stick.

This is from the roku page : Great for: High-performance portability* | TVs further from your router | 4K and HDR TVs*

HD TVs – Up to 1080p (1920 x 1080) with up-scaling from 720p

4K UHD TVs – Up to 2160p at 60fps (3840 × 2160) with up-scaling from 720p and 1080p. TV must have an HDMI input that supports HDCP 2.2

4K UHD HDR TVs – Supports HDR10. TV must have an HDMI input that supports HDCP 2.2

If the Roku supports HDR you should have settings to control this. You must be using 4K resolution to get HDR. 720P and 1080P are upscaled to 4K retaining HDR. Otherwise without 4K support you get no HDR.

Settings>>Display Type>>4K HDR 30Hz TV

then there is

Settings>>Display Type>>4K HDR 60Hz TV

Are these settings not there on the Roku streaming stick+?

You Da Man Speechless - as usual.

That was set to 4K 60, not 4K 60 HDR.

Now the test video's are the same as that on the usb stick - colour is no longer washed out.

Nice 1.

Still need the shield for Atmos - but don't have that capability as yet.
