ALAC in MKV causes HEVC to be transcoded to h264

As far as I know, both of these are supported codecs, so I'm not sure why a transcode is necessary at all, but ALAC in an MKV causes the HEVC to be transcoded to h264+AC3 (rather than just reencoding the audio and remuxing the video). The same video file remuxed with a FLAC audio track direct plays fine.
