mwkurt 5 Posted January 13, 2018 Share Posted January 13, 2018 (edited) Hello, I am trying to set up Emby plugin in Kodi on a Firestick. I can't get past initial sync because the Firestick will suddenly just appear to quit. The screen goes black for a few seconds and then I am back at the Firestick Desktop. Kodi is closed and syncing has stopped. Does not appear to happen at any one place during the sync. Sorry, did not know whether this should be in the Kodi Emby forum or here. That's usually what causes this issue, when the add-on forces Kodi to cache all artwork. Usually it results in timeouts (if your server can't keep up with providing artwork and metadata at the same time) and because of it, Kodi ends up spawning too many threads and crashing. I still believe you'll have a better experience using Embycon for low powered devices. mwkurt 5 Posted January 14, 2018 Author Share Posted January 14, 2018 I actually did load up Embycon on the Firestick. Did not like the main menu being devoid of "Movies" and "TV Shows" menu items.
