Marc_G 92
Hi folks, I've heard there is a way to delete content within the ET interface, but I can't find it. Also I think I read that it requires some setting to be made in the server, which also eludes me. I must be missing something simple. After I watch something, I often want to delete it to free up space. Thanks Marc
ShoutingMan 95
Go into a movie (or TV show or whatever). Click the Trashcan icon to the right of Play button. That will delete the entire folder of media and metadata and purge it from your metadata manager. Play | Trailer | Options | Trashcan
Marc_G 92
Thanks @@ShoutingMan, But I'm clearly missing something. I don't see the trashcan icon. I do have the three-dot menu, but there's no "delete" or anything related in there that I can see. Here's my screenshot, from my Emby Theater screen for an episode I recorded and want to delete, having watched it. Perhaps I'm being selectively blind? It's been known to happen! My server is up to date and Emby Theater (Windows full desktop version) is also up to date, by definition since it seems to auto-update at will. What am I missing? Thanks! Solution denz 426 Posted February 27, 2017 Solution Share Posted February 27, 2017 (edited) Check the user settings that you may have accidently disabled delete option. It should be definately there but on your screenshot I can't see it. Edited February 27, 2017 by denz
Marc_G 92
Ah! Brilliant! Thanks. That's what I was missing. My user account didn't have media deletion allowed. I checked that box and all is well now. I was sure there was a step I was missing on the server side; this was it. Thanks again!
