Talos 2
Ive just bought a new Intel NUC5i3RYH. I have installed Windows 8.1 Pro with WMC and Emby classic for WMC on it. I'm using the latest LAV as the only filter/decoder and it appears to work ok. Emby server runs on my main PC and shares out all my media from an unRaid server. However I'm having an issue when trying to play 2 particular files. I can play both movies fine if I try and play them directly in WMC so i think my LAV is working ok. . The first movie file in question is a 720p XViD with AC3 audio in an AVI container (details from MPC-HC are attached in movie details.txt). The second movie file in questions is a 720p h264 with DTS audio in a MKV container (details from MPC-HC are attached in movie details 2.txt). First movie issue details: When I first try and play the XVID movie in Emby on the NUC it will play for about 15 seconds and then returns to the movie information page in Emby. If I try and play the movie a second time it will return to the movie information page straight away and doesnt even appear to try and play it. I have to actually reboot the HTPC to get it to even attempt to play the movie again and then i get the 15 second issue again. Attached are the Emby server (MBServer Log.log) and embyClassic (MBClassic-Movie1.log) logs from the time in question. I first try to play the file at 8:41pm where it plays for ~15 seconds and then stops. I then try to replay it at 8:42pm and have it return direct to the movie info screen. Second movie issue details: When I try and play the h264 movie on Emby on the NUC it plays fine. However when i check the logs on the server it appears that it is transcoding the movie. I want this movie (and all movies/media etc) to play natively on the NUC. I'm not sure why its transcoding as the NUC should be able to play the movie fine (and does so if i try and load the movie directly in WMC). The MBServer Log.log should show the log info for this movie at around 8:55pm. Transcoding log file from embyserver is attached as MBServer Transcode Movie 2.log. EmbyClassic log from NUC is attached as MBCClassic-Movie2.log Both movies plays fine on my other HTPC running mediabrowser 2.0 and windows 7 so i dont think there are any issues with the movie files themselves. I'm assuming this is probably something stupid ive not configured properly but any help would be greatly appreciated. Solution ebr 14902 Posted August 7, 2015 Solution Share Posted August 7, 2015 Pretty sure both of your problems can be solved with either proper path substitutions on the server to translate your media paths to UNC or access rights adjustments if you've already done that. Talos 2
You sir are a champion among men. I figured it had to be something stupid i'd done and sure enough it was.. I'd setup about 8 shares and all of them were using the UNC path to my fileserver but for some reason the kids movies were pointing ot the local mapped Z: path on my main PC where Emby Server runs. Changed that to point to the UNC path and both movie now play perfectly. Thanks!
