First release candidate for v3.0.0 is available. Complete rewrite. Now written in Go, you no longer need Java on your system. Project moved to Gitlab. Download from the project site: https://gitlab.com/ddb_db/embysweeper Please give it a try and report any issues. This is mostly complete as far as I can tell. A couple of minor tweaks to some output that isn't really important is about the only thing I've noticed so far. Unless people report issues, this will likely be the final v3.0.0 release. The wiki is a little light at the moment. I plan on documenting more examples before the final release. As mentioned in the release notes: Please run this version without the -d flag and inspect the output of what it plans on deleting before you let it delete anything. I've been using it with success, but it doesn't mean it's not without bugs. You've been warned. Release notes copied from release page: v3.0.0 RC3 The first release candidate for v3.0.0. v3 is a complete rewrite of embysweeper from the ground up. Code rewritten in Go; you no longer need Java installed on your system Items can be ignored by series tag in addition to series favourite status New command: serieskeep Ensure only a set number of episodes of a series are kept, deleting the older ones Commands now accept both include and exclude libraries This is a release candidate and is not the final release for v3.0.0. Especially given the fact that this is a complete rewrite from scratch, please be careful when upgrading to this version. Specifically, test all of your command lines WITHOUT the -d flag first and review the output of what the tool plans to delete before you let it delete anything. I can't stress this enough! I am using this version in my environment with success, but it doesn't mean it's not without bugs.

Why is the new TV guide so painful to navigate??

It's not fixed in the latest maintenance release, so when will you actually "take a look at this"? This is really annoying. -
DVR re-recording episodes already in library when it shouldn't
billbo replied to sjabaker's topic in General/Windows
After I did the upgrade the "Check for existing episodes in all libraries" was checked, but the scheduled recordings remained the same. I unchecked and re-checked the box and it corrected the schedule. I was using a web browser and had to refresh the screen to see the changes. - Today

Trying to build a low cost low power server for my mom
Q-Droid replied to SDMattman's topic in Hardware
For low power (consumption and processing) you would want to avoid mechanical components and SSDs are so cheap that there's no need to consider HDDs. -

Video version is not remembered while playing TV series
YKEmbyMedia posted a topic in General/Windows
Hi, I have 2 versions of TV series episodes - SDR and HDR. When I playback SDR one and episode finishes, the next episode being played but of HDR version. Or when I stop playback by pressing Back on remote control, I see again HDR version selected back, though I was watching SDR one. embyserver.txt -

You can enable debug logging from the config files. Change this value to true: <config path>/config/system.xml: <EnableDebugLevelLogging>true</EnableDebugLevelLogging> And remove this line if it's there: <config path>/config/system.xml: <RevertDebugLogging>rotate</RevertDebugLogging> Then restart the container.

Hi, External ASS file has embedded fonts but they are not used while playback. I tested on both latest versions of Windows and Synology servers with playback via web (Chrome), and Android devices (samsung s23 smartphone and nvidia shield). For testing you can use attached file. Note: I used a workaroung when subtitles file was muxed into mkv file and font files were added as attachment. That worked. You can do a few things to check. This is to see if it's actually listening but not the why if it isn't. From the Emby host you can run netstat -lnp to verify the container is listening on the host (external) port. Look for the host side port you mapped. Run wget http://`hostname`:<port> from the host command line. Go into the container and do the same. docker exec -it <your emby container> /bin/sh netstat -lnp to verify the container (internal) port. wget http://`hostname`:<port>/web/index.html

Since the server update yesterday, it is no longer possible to play .mkv files via the Google Chrome web interface. I don't know if I'm the only one having the problem or not but it tells me "no compatible stream" as if the transcoding no longer works. Do you have any solutions ? ffmpeg-directstream-9adeb9f3-8254-451d-8850-4f68ddbd3dec_1.txt

Well I am back to TheTVDB now as without it, Auto Organize cannot find the proper source meta data for some shows.

Collections - *DON'T* group collection items by media type
rexerm replied to rexerm's topic in General/Windows
Yes, that is correct. My apologies, Luke, I was pretty grumpy about this last night. But, I do use Collections extensively for a variety of things and it is one of my favorite ways to organize in Emby. This new view has impacted the usability of many of them pretty badly. Examples would be: Christmas Episodes - because this contains both episodes and shorts (TV specials like Charlie Brown Christmas), I will not be able to scroll through the big list with the kids to pick out things to watch. Directors - I like to have chronological lists of everything favorite directors have done. David Cronenberg, for example, is now broken because he has a TV episode in his collection. Things to Show Friends - I have collections where I throw anything and everything I might want to watch when a friend visits. We can no longer scroll through the big list to browse. MCU - I add individual TV seasons to the MCU collection to keep things in chronological order. This forces the "Movies & Shows" horizontal scrolling thing, which, among other things, makes getting to the end of this 71-item list painful. -
jglazer63 started following Auto Organize "Unable to find movie in library matching name"
-
I can read it and know what it means/says but I don't understand. I thought auto organize would look up the name on a TMDB or somewhere and place the file in the respective folder? It seems like it is trying to place a movie in a folder it expects to already exist?

DVR re-recording episodes already in library when it shouldn't
sjabaker replied to sjabaker's topic in General/Windows
Just to say I've updated and it seems to be working fine for me* - recording schedule all back to normal - Thanks Luke. * Note: I only use a single TV Show library, so I may only be validating the original "Don't record episodes that are already in my library" setting and not necessarily the new "Check for existing episodes in all libraries" setting as well (depending on whether checking all folders in the same library has been restored into the original setting's behaviour or instead only included in the new multi-library setting). -
Hi, This is my Live TV - Programmers section, it shows all the banners for the channels I used. However, is it possible to customize this section and remove banners like SIGN OFF or Paid Programming to NOT show without disabling the channel?

Ah thank you - I mis-remembered it as "More", so my search for an existing report failed to find the post you referred to.
