Wrong metedata language for episodes description

Dangthatslong started following Yikes... Setup help needed

Hi! I just installed the server (com.emby.embyserver_4.8.3.0.apk) and client part on my Nvidia Shield Pro and I'm baffled how hard the setup is done... and yes, I read the 'Quick tutorial' how to start. 1. How to connect external HDD? I tried, using the browser on local Emby server IP, to connect to my external harddisk which is connected to my Nvidia Shield. I can access the server but I can not find such option. The HDD is accessible via LAN and is shared on the Shield. Any suggestions how to access it through Emby are welcome! EDIT: Using 'Add" - 'Network' the external HDD shows up but is not selectable. I can not open it and set the path to the existing movies. 2. Emby client setup The client, which is installed on the same Shield, asks for an IP. I assume it is the local server IP on port 8096 which I filled in. This doesn't work. Error connecting to server. Somehow the server stopped. Why I had to sign up to use the client locally stays a mystery. 4. Library - Metadata Path? I would like to use the external HDD for the meta data. As the disk doesn't shows up, I cant to this. I understand that getting this working is a one time effort and I really would appreciate a helping hand;

The file is no longer used as it was imported into database only in 4.8. I will guess a new install the option is set to true and can only be changed via the api or directly in the database. A music library per the api

Wrong metedata language for episodes description
Happy2Play replied to hedeus's topic in General/Windows
Currently there is no option for that as Emby will fallback to English filling in missing metadata do to lack of translation. -
Currently no. All on can do is copy the UI or go to the api and run the query from there. Link at the bottom of dashboard but requires localhost or https to connect. workaround found in first section here. http://localhost:8096/emby/Shows/Missing?api_key=yourapikey Looks like I have some missing "TotalRecordCount": 4605

Wrong metedata language for episodes description
Zeckro replied to hedeus's topic in General/Windows
I don't get it, if there is no description in the chosen language, then so be it. I would prefer to have consistency. At least when I set my metadata language to a specific language, I don't want to have multiple languages for metadata. A series could have differences in the description language between seasons or even in a season, just because the description is not set for a couple of episodes. If I select a language on the TVDB website, I don't see a fallback description just because my chosen language does not have one. -
Ja, in der Web-App.

@feerlessleadrThe EPG length can be set. Normally it's 7 days. I am very interested in this problem. When you first create the EPG, check to see if it is 7 days long. vic

Wrong metedata language for episodes description
Happy2Play replied to hedeus's topic in General/Windows
Well someone need to translate all the info in provider site if you want them to match. When fallback happens what do you want mixed title and overview, only translated and empty overwiew, Nothing? Sounds like some expect different outcomes when metadata does not exist in their languages. -
I see that. Hopefully this will be corrected soon

Problem with GoPro files with 120mbit bitrate
rbjtech replied to smgsmagus's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
It's both - HDMI 2.0 is not capble of playing of playing 4K@120fps. So even if the Shield could play L6 profiles - which it cannot - then HDMI would not allow it anyway. If you look at your mediainfo output that I asked for for originally, you will see that even 30 fps is written as an L6 profile. This is totally unnecessary and is the reason why they are failing because the Shield does not support this profile. This looks a bug to me on the GoPro firmware - it should be recording 4K 30 or 60fps as L5.0 or 5.1 - both of which the shield supports. -
Wrong metedata language for episodes description
Zeckro replied to hedeus's topic in General/Windows
What do you mean "fixed"? Title and description language are still different! -
Yes as every provider does something different with People so each will provide a different result. As you truly do not get episode cast (guest stars) from other providers vs TVDB when it works.

I have no opinions for this request. However, if this request is taken seriously, this could be yet another use of metadata:

Subtitle downloading error with new open subtitle plugin
mattsteg replied to lantana's topic in General/Windows
Thank you for your help. This solves the issue. The user's the primary administrator. IF it's required to manually set some hidden settings like this...it really should be better documented imo. Even if it's possible (and sensible if you aren't using subtitles like I previously wasn't) to disable, the documentation of the subtitle feature should probably mention that this permission exists. This does solve the issue of the setting being visible. There was also a typo that was not interfering with emby's ability to identify the movie (which is why it wasn't downloading at all, but without any feedback of why) -
-
Thanks for registering. It can take up to 24 hours for registrations to fully activate on Emby's side. Also, if you registered with a different email address than your Emby Premiere email address, we'll need someone from the Emby team to update your registration information.

schein nach einem Emby Server Neustart nun zu funktionieren. Ist wirklich super cool. Vielen Dank.

No as I reproduce the TVDB only provider no episode cast issue. It is the open issue on GitHub linked above.

Problem with GoPro files with 120mbit bitrate
smgsmagus replied to smgsmagus's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
hi if you will read this thread carefully, you will see that problem is not with files with 120fps, but less. It seems not to be HDMI issue ( as VLC is capable of opening these files), but Emby capability to play Main@L6@Main HEVC files. Even 30fps files are failing.
