Jey2024 started following Scheduled Tasks
-
Hi, Can someone explain a bit more about these two scheduled tasks? Scan media library Download subtitles I'm planning to set a minimal interval here so that I will have updated content, but if I set this to every 15 minutes or so, will it cause server load or streaming issues? Assuming I have 1200 episodes across various series, every 15 minutes, will it scan the library and check for subtitles for already existing files, or will it intelligently ignore the existing files and subtitles and only look for new files/subtitles? Thanks

Did you try the transcoding option of the plugin? plugin config menu -> playback -> transcode audio" section and "transcode output format" -
embyforkodi (next-gen) 10.X.X support

Thanks, today I'm busy, but will test it tomorrow. -
It might affect the amount of data that can be streamed but should otherwise work just fine.

GuyBee started following Disable pin prompt
-
Is there a way to disable pin prompt for a user on a device? There's the initial prompt when you first login on a device asking about requesting pin each time. It's getting a bit tedious, I'm wanting to disable it but can't see an option to do so. This is android tv latest version, with emby premier server. Is there a way to disable it? Thanks

OK, it sounds like the mp3's have different embedded metadata than the m4a's. I would check on that.

Can not connect to my server anymore on my firestick 4K
Movieguy36 replied to Movieguy36's topic in General/Windows
I actually tried that on the emby fire tv app and the just emby app as well too all this week I got the same error my server will show but it wouldn't let me connect says unable to connect. i also had Jellyfin app installed as well and had the exact same issues with Jellyfin. I don't know if it's something on my laptop or firestick settings that's stopping it from connecting -

cgreentx started following Simple path to playlists for content
-
I'm looking to build out a setup where the only content that shows up is in playlists. The back end wil be folders that are sync'd onto the media server by non-technical staff that are adding and removing content as needed. I'm looking for a way to easiliy build playlists for audio and video content that can transit over from various platforms (Windows and Mac) and handle the path issues. I'm not wanting to teach the content managers the complexities of editing playlist files directly. I don't see any way to build the playlists directly inside the Emby UI. Is there another path to get where I'm trying to go?

@hackthis02Okay...some "wonkiness" may remain. Watched episodes is double counting the special playback. "69 / 61 (100 %) +8 sp" should be "61 / 61 (100 %) +8 sp". I think.

Hi. Can you try searching the Amazon store for just "Emby" and installing that app? -
And another thank you @hackthis02! The plugin just updated to v3.3.1.1. After doing so episode counts minus specials seem to be as expected. I'll post back if I see any other "wonkiness".

https://gitlab.com/ddb_db/embysweeper/-/wikis/Examples/Batch-Processing All of the wiki docs that are up there are now filled in. There are still some more examples worth documenting but this batch command documentation I think is the killer feature of this whole tool. It documents the actual setup I'm using on my server with this tool to manage people's media. The other examples I plan to document are around how to log to a file and how to produce the http log files in case of a help request. If there's a specific use case you'd like an example page made for, please explain the scenario and I'll see what I can do. Otherwise, the usage examples I plan on documenting are pretty much done.

Server got hacked through API key over the Internet?
vaise replied to kuldan5853's topic in General/Windows
There was a DLNA API key there that the system has created. I dont use DLNA and its deactivated, so I removed this key. I have added keys manually for autoscan and watchstate - neither of which are forward facing to anything remote or users. I also FW limit access to my server from only the country I have users. -
You can not log into the website, as when you enter your email address the password field autofills with a 'strong password' suggestion. It does not allow you to delete this to be able to input your actual password.

Switching the port protocol to TCP/UDP seems to have fixed it to some extent. I can open the remote access page when on mobile data but it's not a stable connection and jumping through the timeline of a video immediately brings it to a halt (might be due to my terrible network reception at home). I'll test it again when connected to a friend's/my workplace WiFi while the server remains on my home network. Would connecting the server via WiFi affect the performance? It's in the same room as the router.
-
My router does not accept the source port fields being empty. I can switch the protocol to TCP/UDP and will try that.
-
Initially when checking the remote access page, yes. All tests afterwards were on a mobile device using mobile data (4G/5G) on check.

Any updates on this? Do you need more info?

embyforkodi (next-gen) 10.X.X support
seashell replied to quickmic's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
Here's a patch to add the go to functions, along with a setting to disable them and an en_gb language strings file in case you're interested. There are two "Go To Show" language strings. The first would actually be for the setting name for enable/disabled, the second what appears in the context menu (actually a sub-menu, I put show/season in a sub-menu to save space in the context menu). goto.diff -
@scott46953Apologies. As mentioned above we would need an example to know why this occurs. If you can provide one we could better solve this. In the meantime...The most obvious reason this happens is they are not using "Auto" for their video quality. You might tell your remote users to choose "Auto" for their video quality. Otherwise it is possible they can choose a video quality which will over saturate your connection. This would cause endless buffering hell for them which is exactly as are describe to us. If you know exactly what upload speed you want them to consume that would be best to set their video quality with. They then can set their video quality to match that speed you suggest to them.
