Then I see the dialogue with username and password. Maybe it should also be added if the path begins with smb://

Yea ok looser, don't get upset.. It got a really low rating and for good reason. I guess you like it because it's got that peanut head Patrick Stewart in it...

    embyforkodi (next-gen) 10.X.X support

An update on the picture issue, I set the cache all images option and let it cache everything and now it loads the images fine. So is this a timeout solved by caching or something else?
  5. Why are you on 4.8.0.80? The post-release fixes have taken it to 4.8.5.0 now. Paul

  8. Is Emby server on the laptop? If so, check that the networking hasn't been flipped to public mode (it needs to be private); this is a thing Windows sometimes does unexpectedly with updates. Paul
  9. Hi, I have two files from same video, one is HEVC + ASS, other is AV1 with same ASS subtitles. Windows Emby Server 4.8.5.0, web windows client. If I play HEVC file with or without subtitles everithing works fine. If I play AV1 witout subtitles, works, but with subtitules, don't work, I receive a message "there is not compatible transmisions availables". I attach logs and mediainfo from files. 10. I'll try using addon mode. I found another weird thing, that may be related. I have both the "ask for deletion after watching" and "skip to next episode" on. It used to work fine, asking to delete the episode when I clicked next episode. But now, If I click next episode, it doesn't ask for deletion. If I hit esc twice (dismissing the "next episode" and exiting to the kodi interface) it asks for deletion. It doesn't bother much, but it's weird. may it be related to the dissapearing episodes bug?
  11. I am not even sure where to put this so will just add it to the general area. I have a movie with subs that Emby is trying to burn in, not an issue really as the machine should be able to handle this ok, but for this file it is having issues. The movie transcodes at 24 fps which is just not fast enough to watch, it pauses every now and then to catch up, wife = not happy Ok so its having issues fine, its probably CPU/IO/MEM bound and it's just a performance issue with my machine you say, However if I grab the ffmpeg command being run from the ffmpeg log file and run it on the machine manually it transcode the file at about 105 fps or about x4 times the speed. I have attached the ffmpeg log for the transocde. I don't actually expect this is an Emby issue as I have said if I run the exact command from the ffmpeg log it runs fast. Has anyone seen this sort of thing before. subs Title(Default EIA_608) Embedded TitleClosed Captions 1 CodecEIA_608 DefaultYes ForcedNo Hearing ImpairedNo ExternalNo ffmpeg-transcode-2235fe24-a940-4713-9b39-d0ffefe91517_1.zip

is it possible to change this type of behavior for m3u live tv

hey thanks for the reply. as u can see in the video there is something within emby that makes is take longer to start the stream as compared to vlc for example and i was wondering if u know what might be happening here and a potential fix, thank you again.

What if you enter the path using unc conventions instead?

    Emby filesystem error with 4.8.5.0

Yes, it's the webpage of Emby. Here's the bottom of the dialogue:

Yes, marked a solution after some more testing
  19. Actually, the server shouldn't transcode video at all, only audio if the transcode settings are correct. two options, transcode by bandwith (100 / 1000) should never trigger the transcoding and second. transcode by containerformat. That's the one you shoudl enable (for audio only). Check Emby servers dashboard to see what's happening.

Question as to why you use Kodi

Smart playlists. For audio transcoding, though (I've to use an optical audio cable), I let the Emby server do that, as the audio is still louder using Emby.

    I have the same problem with this movie and with rebel moon part2. I can play for a few minutes and then the image freezes. I am trying to start playback with the subtitles disabled and at the moment I don't have the error (10 minutes), I will comment later if it is permanently fixed EDIT: same problem with subs off 07:56:03.576 subtitle_kickoff: resend - pts: 4706958 07:56:03.576 subtitle_kickoff: call subtitle_resend_current 4706968 frame->format: 3 07:56:03.679 [segment @ 0x15de680] Opening '/var/lib/emby/transcoding-temp/4F929E/4F929E.m3u8.tmp' for writing 07:56:03.680 SegmentComplete=video:0 Index=1568 Start=4704.000000 End=4707.000000 Duration=3.000000 offset_pts=0 start_pts=4704000000 Frames=72 filename=4F929E_1568.ts 07:56:03.680 [segment @ 0x15de680] Opening '/var/lib/emby/transcoding-temp/4F929E/4F929E_1569.ts.tmp' for writing 07:56:03.701 [segment @ 0x15e4700] Opening '/var/lib/emby/transcoding-temp/4F929E/4F929E_s4.m3u8.tmp' for writing 07:56:03.702 SegmentComplete=video:1 Index=1565 Start=4695.083333 End=4697.958333 Duration=2.875000 offset_pts=0 start_pts=4695083333 Frames=72 filename=4F929E_s4_1565.vtt 07:56:03.702 [segment @ 0x15e4700] Opening '/var/lib/emby/transcoding-temp/4F929E/4F929E_s4_1566.vtt.tmp' for writing 07:56:03.702 [segment @ 0x15e8340] Opening '/var/lib/emby/transcoding-temp/4F929E/4F929E_s5.m3u8.tmp' for writing 07:56:03.702 SegmentComplete=video:1 Index=1565 Start=4695.083333 End=4697.958333 Duration=2.875000 offset_pts=0 start_pts=4695083333 Frames=72 filename=4F929E_s5_1565.vtt 07:56:03.702 [segment @ 0x15e8340] Opening '/var/lib/emby/transcoding-temp/4F929E/4F929E_s5_1566.vtt.tmp' for writing 07:56:03.704 Too many packets buffered for output stream 1:1. 07:56:03.858 Conversion failed! 07:56:03.858 EXIT ffmpeg-transcode-ddab34a0-96fe-48a4-b7f4-e66f974401ec_1.txt
  22. Yes, it does when subtitles are muxed into mkv file and fonts are added as attachment. But when subtitles files are external with embedded fonts, it does not.

  26. I've had this error for a few weeks now, I thought it was because of the updated nvidia drivers, but I've tried the previous version and the same error still occurs. Im using latest stable version of emby. 07:23:41.674 Too many packets buffered for output stream 1:1. 07:23:41.726 Conversion failed! 07:23:41.726 EXIT @Luke ffmpeg-transcode-71beb995-22f9-48cd-86f1-72539651c3e1_1.txt
  27. Yes, that's what I did initially. By switching from aac (the default) to ac3 I get the 5.1 sound. Apparently, the reason's the hardware: optical audio cables can only deal with two channels of uncompressed audio. To get more than those channels, the audio has to be compressed, or like ac3. I only realized this after I saw the setting in the Emby Android app, and realized that I could do the same for the Emby addon. Later, I was told about the hardware limitations, and then also found out that Kodi itself can transcode on the fly, but to do that you have to set the Kodi audio to default settings, which is 2.0. Then turn on passthrough, and you'll see the option to transcode to ac3. Activate that. However, I notice that when I do audio transcoding through Emby, the video would sometimes freeze after around 15 min. I have to stop playback and then resume. I don't know if setting the bandwith limit for video to 1000 Mbps will help (the default's 100). I'll report what I experience. For now, AFAIK, the server should be powerful enough to do transcoding (it's an old i5 but with 16 GB RAM, SSD, etc.) and connections are gigabit (e.g., 400 Mbps DL/UL speed test in the Android TV box). And the problem doesn't happen if I don't transcode.
