I see a bunch of FFmpeg errors. Never had this issue until I upgraded today. I'm on Qnap embyserver.txt

it's kind of a pain to convert iso into mkv depending on the dvd type or genre it is. normal movies are pretty straight forward but workout dvds or anything similar with lot's of chapters and video files can be nerve-wracking. I've given up hoping that good ISO playback will ever come. However, I have now realised that I no longer miss these DVDs that much anyway. The quality of DVDs is miserable. Not even Full HD ...., which gives you eye cancer anyway.

Click on server version in your Dashboard, it'll list Release Notes for any version.

Ok, I'll see if the Emby team has any input on it, thanks for your help. I've never needed to separately install packages to get Emby to work on my DS220+ before so I'm guessing there's maybe an oversight here, so maybe I can help if they need input from a Synology owner. If I do have to fumble through installing weird stuff, I'll try to revert back to 4.8.3.0 if it lets me and revisit when I have more time.

I do not see this option in my server anywhere but it says this on the update 4.8.4.0 Add series recording option to check all libraries for existing episodes Also I do not see any new options in any of my settings buttons. There is nothing to remove or fix my duplicate tv shows? maybe there is an app to remove all duplicate videos?? or does it delete them as it finds them when they are detected on attempt to record? or no deletion detection fix.. just a do not record something that is already existing? i can see it recording right now.. two shows that have already been watched with a green checker. nothing to stop that yet? I dont want to record shows that have already been watched by the person that has selected it to record. but maybe that is something that has to stay. not sure

Synology isn't exactly friendly so if I can avoid hacking into it and trying to install packages it'd be ideal. Is this a new feature of 4.8.4.0? I'll reiterate that it was working fine on 4.8.3.0

Can you provide a specific example and server log. Is this all media or just new media?

What I understand is that the version of the "Emby for Fire TV" app did not have a certain update to run functionally, which is why we are having this problem. I think that's it. We have to wait for the version of the "Emby" App to be released for the Fire Stick TV Lite device, when? I don't know, they didn't give a date for solving the problem...

This is not possible. How can I acquire an original AC3 track for a release done by the Scene? Also, it defeats the purpose of having Emby transcode/manager stuff for me in the first place. For Direct Play we had Kodi to begin with. This issue will always come back, AV1 hasn't superseded HEVC as of yet. But trust me it will. AV1+Opus makes all the sense. Not only for streaming data but for storage since it occupies less space.

Okay I didn't think the error about deleting the temp folder really meant anything. Looks like this is a problem with transcoding the ASS subs, but it might be doing something that you can only see with some debug options enabled. If you have the Diagnostics Plugin installed try setting the trasncoding log level to debug information, hit save, reproduce the issue and provide the logs. Otherwise my recommendation is to get some SRT subs for this and you should be able to watch it just fine, those don't need to be burned in to the video. That's how it works when transcoding, it creates a "playlist" of TS files and it reads from the playlist, requesting TS segments when needed.

So why not just insert an AC3 track and make it the default audio track like I suggested earlier in the thread ? A little time invested preparing media, pays dividends later on because it direct plays.

Sorry, unfortunately I only noticed your answer today. I installed and configured the QNAP on an empty hard drive. Then I reinstalled Emby and I believe restored from Emby backup and adjusted the deposits for the media folders. In the meantime, I also noticed that when I selected "Highest permitted age rating" - De-18/FSK-18 for the user accounts and certain users under the parental controls, that many other films and series are not displayed in this user account. If I don't select any information in the respective user account, they will still be displayed.

Just tested the container with 'true' (no quotes, no large T) and can confirm that the flag still isn't added, unfortunately. I've installed the 4.8.4.0 (restarted the server and update started). But I'm not sure to see the issue solved. Is there any option to activate to avoid re-recording of already present episode in other libraries?

Your TV is on your local network though isn't it? So you should be skipping emby connect and using the LAN address.

I am trying to set this up now. When I drop a movie into the watch folder, not only does it move it to a special library that is "mixed" instead of the one I designated as movies, it does not rename it as requested. Probably something simple I am missing. Ideas?
