Emby Connect unable to find server

Does a site like canyouseeme.org show Emby ports open? Are you able to connect to the displayed WAN:port shown on dashboard? Did you link your local user to Connect Email? Are you connecting http or https?

  12. Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
  13. Possibly if you have a backup as the plugin would have preserved your previous database. Might be a little tricky as downgrading then restoring previous database should work. But platform might be problematic. If it were Windows I would just downgrade and copy db from backup and put in data folder overwriting existing db.
  14. I've been experimenting with playing recordings and live TV from TV Everywhere via the usual Channels m3u integration stuff and also by having the Channels DVR folders as libraries for emby. I'm having a problem with displaying closed captions / subtitles in the emby client for Android (both phone and Google TV). For OTA recordings and live TV, closed captions work fine in all clients I have tried. For TVE recordings and live TV, closed captions work in the emby web browser client. For TVE recordings and live TV, closed captions do not show up in the emby client on my phone or on my Chromecast with Google TV. (In both cases, the app is the latest for the platforms.) On Google TV, a brief pop-up says the subtitle file cannot be opened. On the phone, there's no error message but also no captions. Symptoms are the same whether I am playing back a file recorded by Channels or a file recorded by emby. All the TVE stuff works as expected in Channels. I tried some other IPTV clients, with mixed results for both OTA and TVE. Has anyone cracked this nut?

Right OK. that's just because the check isn't docker-specific. For most platforms the update check is platform-specific, just not Docker. So that means there could be a small gap of a few hours of when it says an update is available until it actually is.
  19. Too late for me. No way to bring back the stable version 4.8.4.0 right? if it not I stick with beta.

    Emby TV CLUB

The Professionals is on ITVX if you can get that. There's also a bluray boxset - expensive though. Martin Shaw was very good in George Gently. That I have got the blurays for.

Sorry Luke, I'm still not following you. When you say it's the server that checks if an update is available, you're referring to my own personal server yes? If so, I can log into my Unraid server, and manually check if any docker updates are available....and that's currently showing as no, all dockers are up to date (even though my emby server docker is on 4.8.3). I can then open an Emby client, say on my phone for example, and view the by dashboard....that says that 4.8.4 is available and that I should install it.
  25. When had been resolved? it happened to me this morning US Eastern Time.
  26. And when it supercedes HEVC, if you're still using your ancient hardware, you'll probably continue to blame the devs of Emby when it's an issue with the way AV1 is designed to work. There are no magic work arounds for a base codec's inability to be used in a certain stream style. Upgrade your home theatre receiver or process the files before adding them to your library. There is only so much hand holding a dev team can do when users refuse to use modern hardware. It's like people complaining that XP support no longer exists for newer programs. Sorry man, but that's the reality of the situation you are in. AV1 is still in its infancy, and there are a lot of inherit problems with it. As for your thing with Plex, Plex has over 100 staff members, tens of millions of dollars to play with, and don't add things until they know they work 100%. There's a reason they are "so far behind" in regards to video codec support, as AV1 is still not ready for mainstream, yet Emby users demanded it, and now people aren't happy that there are problems with the half baked implementation. I don't know why this is a hill you're willing to die on when the solution is such a simple one on your end.
  27. The issue has been resolved in rerelease 4.8.4.0 but now you are stuck on beta until it is release as there is a database change.
