When you click on (for example) an actor's thumbnail, you are taken to a page for that actor, with a text description and a list of the movies they have participated in. This list is only a single line, so although there is a right-arrow button to scroll, it's a bit of a pain to see the entire filmography for an actor. Happily, to the top-right of the list, there is was a "More" button; when you clicked that, the page updated to show all of the actor's movies. As of recently, this button has disappeared for me (Chrome-based browsers, server 4.8.4.0). Is this the same for everyone else? And if so, is it by design (hopefully not), or is it a bug? (Separately, at some stage in the last year or so, clicking the "More" button associated with the text description pops up a text box, rather than the original behaviour of just expanding the text in place. The previous behaviour was excellent, as you could look over the actor's filmography whilst reading the description. Unfortunately, the new-ish pop-up box sits over the filmography, such that you can't see the list of movies you're reading about in the description. Is there any way to revert this to the better, previous display method?)

Das Transcoden sollte auch ausreichen, solange es kein 4k ist (keine Erfahrung, zu große Bandbreite, ich habe die Sachen auch in HD). Emby transcoded den Film bei Standardeinstellung mit voller fps in den Cache und streamt davon, d.h. er transcoded nicht die ganze Zeit. Wahrscheinlich geht dir der Upstream aus, bevor du zu viele Nutzer hast Ich würde wahrscheinlich auf 1 TB mit der SSD gehen, da die Mediacenter im Laufe der Zeit viele Metadaten wie Bilder ansammeln und die Config immer größer wird.

I'm using camera upload since ages. Recently I noticed it started creating new folders. Can I somehow roll back to original behavior? Originally it was "Camera Roll" and every single folder on phone were synchronized back to this "Camera Roll" folder on Emby Server. Now my phone started creating separate directories for each folder. Can I somehow control this?

Audio transcoding of the standard Android version on Xiaomi tablet does not work as well. If I set the local network bandwidth to 20mbps then everything gets transcoded correctly, including the audio. If I disabled the bandwidth setting, everything is direct playing, also for the DTS or TrueHD audio. The app doesn't seem to detect the support audio codecs correctly on the tablet. The tablet is set to Dolby Atmos. So IT should transcode DTS/TrueHD audio but it is direct playing. Since the option to convert unsupported audio to DD is not available on the standard Android app, am I forced to use the Android TV version instead to get the sound right?

Just disable "use path substitution" in plugin's settings menu -> sync.

Users have been asking for this as an option from the beginning. That's why it was implemented with view options in ATV. Why would you put this out and not include options? It also needs movies and shows split apart...as an option.

Tried to install 8.4 again, and it ran this time. But although all the media showed up, it appeared to have no access to the files themselves. Even if I tried to re-add them it said it had no access. (Although nothing had changed on the Synology permissions) Gone back to 4.9.0.14 and all is ok again - except the 'Play Genre' which still crashes the system.

Hi @LukeI just sent a log from the Emby app (Emby for Android TV 2.1.10g) at around EST 4:35. I was playing the movie Breaking with user name Eric. I selected DTS-HD MA when starting the movie to show that Emby transcodes the audio perfectly. And then I switched to AC3 audio during playback. Then after a few seconds, I switched to DTS-HD MA. The audio does not get transcoded this time. Please check the log and investigate why DTS-HD MA is not transcoded when switching audio streams during playback. Thanks in advance!

Maybe more info will help: Running Kodi and Emby server on the same computer, mac-mini running monterey, library on local disk. not using path substitution.

Hey there! I'm on version 9.4.19. I haven't used this functionality in a while, but I'm noticing an issue I've never experienced before. A friend of mine who was fine on an old version and upgraded also started having the issue afterwards. When trying to use an external player via Kodi, the playback URL sent to the player begins with "/emby_addon_mode/" instead of "http://127.0.0.1:57342/". As such, playback via external players doesn't work as it should. I noticed in advancedsettings.xml that a path substitution is setup that looks like it should be applying here, but doesn't look like it is successfully. Playback via Kodi's internal player works fine. Thank you very much for any help and for supporting the Kodi addons thus far!

I have the same issue, all movies are just in each folder. example \netflix\film (year).strm \netflix\film2 (year).strm instead of \netflix\film (year)\film (year).strm \netflix\film2 (year)\film (year).strm

Sadly I have already moved onto beta 4.9.xx. (To see ig that had fixed the issues) Tried to put 8.4 back on and it said I couldn't downgrade, so I uninstalled the Beta and installed 8.4 again. However Emby won't start after doing that. It starts up and then stops. If I manually start it up again it does the same - starts then stop. So I put 4.9.0.14 back on and it's all running again. Tried the play genre again using the web version of the player and there is no difference - it still crashes everything. Will try to install 8.4 again shortly, and will let you know if it will run this time.

If you want to go low with power and use a ras pi you could use something like this.. Argon ONE M.2 Case You would need a M.2 SSD but there fairly cheep.

I've been noticing lately that when I do 10 sec. fast forward or press the pause/play button that there is a cracking sound is noticeable for a split second. This was never hearable before.

I can't really test under 1 minute as it would require a huge refactor for all the devices I have. But without pre cache so only caching after the song have already played a lot, this is the same the second it start to load the next song the media disapear from the dashboard and won't be visible when the second item starts playing. How many Emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths are added to each one?

i was about to report it, since no HW acceleration detected good things i check this thread first, the new upload fixed this, as well the playback issue on web version, thanks!
