Weird, In the web browser, if I faster forward or click on the bar to 2min or so, it plays fine. Maybe its the graphic intro causing this?>?>? Is that possible? Intro

if this post in wrong location please let me know and i will re post I've had Emby for a number of years and never had a problem at all, i have the server on my computer and play my media via 2 different Nvadia shields both have different versions of software and via my tablets or phone also different versions of Emby it seems , all at home. Up until today all have worked super with never a problem, from today for some reason after 5 to 10 mins the media freezes, and sometimes restarts after 2 or 3 mins, this is with 264 or 265 files, I even bought premier as i hoped this might solve the problem but no luck, if i play the media via other players like VLC they do not stop or freeze. any suggestions to assist if you need any other info please let me know how to obtain as not the best on these things

Sorry to respond late. So this morning on my pc I tried the same movie as I'm remote today. I can not get it to play in browser. So Myanimelist has both the original and English voice actors for shows on their site. Recently I have been manually deleting and adding the English actors (as I only do dubbed) but it would take forever. I do have preferred Metadata as English but it makes no difference. Is there a way to have the info off Myanimelist pull the English actors rather then the original ones on dubbed animes pull and load? Would save so much time seeing that I am at about 30TB right now?? Thank you.

Looks like it's sorted now. I didn't do anything so I'm assuming this was sorted on the opensubtitles end.

As I mentioned those pics are from the web browser on PC, I included them to show this is not platform specific. The fist pic is the resulting playlist when selecting shuffle from the menu on the Country genre icon.(below pic) The second pic is showing the high cpu usage during the very long wait after clicking through Music>Genres>Country>Songs>Shuffle; though this results in tracks only from the selected genre. This happens with all genres, I just chose Country as it's the most obvious to quickly see the wrong tracks.

I tried that exact thing to no avail before posting this thread. The only way I was able to get it to refresh without closing was to start watching something else and then come back.

Have you tried combining the files using a free program like mkv tool nix?

I made user+group 989 emby. ACL full control. I added mount point. When adding library in emby, it sees the folders in the mount. I mounted just /Media and emby sees the Movies, Series, Music and eBooks folder. I have added those 4 as libraries. When scanning, it won't show anything. What am I missing here?

I did a test and Emby picked up the movie right away after doing a library scan when the movie is named Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry (2023) [imdbid=tt27737950]

The proper title of the movie, according to IMDB, is "Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry" If I may offer a suggestion, name the folder for your 'Blackbird' movie AND the movie itself Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry (2023) [imdbid=tt27737950] and then do a scan of the Movie library... I'd be very surprised if that doesn't solve the problem. Apologies, I did a search but didn’t find that particular thread, didn’t realise it was already asked for. I appreciate it can’t be accurate in all cases, but there are instances where the episode intro is identical in every episode, and Emby gets it completely wrong. For example, the intro runs from 00:30 - 00:45, and Emby marks 01:00 - 01:15 for one episode, even though the other episodes were marked correctly. The problem with the ChapterAPI plugin is there’s no way to batch-edit time codes, which you could do if they were saved to NFOs. And there’s no way to back up your changes, so you’d spend a lot of time editing the time codes, and then lose all your changes if you refreshed metadata, etc.

Not really a bug - just the fact that there is no way the process we are using to determine the intro positions can be 100% accurate in all cases. It is a guess based on the content. Its pretty good but not foolproof. You may want to check out the ChapterAPI plugin as well.

Hi. What if, instead of closing the app, you just navigate basically anywhere?

I begin watching an episode in Room A. Stop mid-way through, go to room B and it still shows me in the middle of another episode in room B. I close emby there and restart it and now it shows the correct episode and resume location.

The Skip Intro feature is great, but it could benefit from some more functionality. It would be great if you could disable Skip Intro for certain series. For example, Curb Your Enthusiasm has a very short intro, but has the same pieces of background music in all the episodes, so Skip Intro is often selecting one of the background songs as the intro, leading to the Skip Intro button appearing during the actual episode. I think there should be a setting in the Edit Metadata screen for each series, allowing you to disable Intro Skip for that series, if the feature isn’t working properly for that series. Beyond that, the generated time codes could be saved in the NFO file for each episode, so that they could be edited manually. This would also mean the time codes are backed up. This would be handy for cases where Skip Intro seems to select a completely random time code as the intro. I’ve seen instances of Skip Intro completely missing the actual intro, and skipping 30 seconds of the actual episode instead. I’m assuming this is a bug.
