I think I've just identified when it works and when it doesn't. When you respect naming conventions, it doesn't ; supposed you have : Movie X (2024)/Movie X (2024) - FHD 1080p.mkv Movie X (2024)/Movie X (2024) - UHD 4K.mkv If you group these 2 movies, CA select the lowest resolution overlay (1080p). If you group 2 movies with whatever names you want, CA select the highest overlay! But with this option you have to deal with the filenames when switching version instead of just switching FHD 1080p or UHD 4K. Not the best UX option IMHO.

what I don't understand reading feature requests here is just Latin for me but the core of emby is, to my understanding, watching content. and even after more than 6 years this is far away from being good, in terms of ui/ux and general logic. Some things are really beautiful! but only a few things are really designed for watching content why is there still no setting to just use external srt subs? always. period. I've tried all combos and it's a mess. why are my organized srt subs have to be in the end of a line of sometimes 30 internal subs? I want to use them. that's why they are in the folder! it seems impossible to have a setting for sub positioning in the player. no, with every format change of the native content you have to adjust outside if you don't want to have them in the black or to high. why are there only 5 sizes and they are from the screen is full to is there anything. and with some clients the font is so ugly. and if I change the setting outside arrow down on home is of course not bringing me back to my movie. no, it highlights content number 5. why? and if I press sub in the player the standard setting for highlighting is the sub which is running. who designs that? or better doesn't? why? turning it off means pressing up 30 times. and off set on bottom but download on top or vice versa and and and. endless ui ux topics and my usage scenario is so easy and so basic but it just looks like nobody from the devs is using emby? and off set. of course it's not saved so if you have a screensaver because you have an oled you can maintain that again and again and again. and again and turning off theme songs doesn't give you silence in every case. and I really don't know anymore how many times I checked the settings on all clients. 100 times! sometimes only reboot helps, not even leaving emby client stops the song. I would remove the sydney folder from your library like I suggested, or even all three if you want. Then do a new recording. I think it will be fine at that point. Then you can copy the episode files back in manually to their rightful place.

Yes - positive on those... password field on Network page is blank, and if you click in the far right of the field, the cursor appears far-left... with no change if you backspace... so no characters I have also tried recreating the original cert - and the resulting conversion to PKCS12 with the same pass at all opportunities to specific a pass - and then the Network settings as well... same result... "Network Password Error" (currently on yet another cert with no passwords at all during creation) I don't get it... I even killed/recreated the Port Forwards... portscans show 8096 open, but 8920 times out (which makes sense given the error)

There is already a folder path for NCIS as well as NCIS Sydney: So it would seem the something is off with the metadata in deciding where it should be saved and then what show to display it under in the Library. How do I get rid of the duplicate entries for NCIS in the Library as well?

I think it's the encoding of the media files. I'm going to try another file from a different source and see what happens. The same source same HDR 10 4K video stream works on several other medias with subtitles. Maybe this is a bad copy or two.

Are you sure you don't have a password applied in Emby on the Network page? Have you tries appling a password to cert and in the UI? But obviously there is a mismatch either in cert or Emby UI to throw the error.

Hi! Didn't find any answer about the possibility to select the highest resolution overlay when grouping movies. Grouping 1080p with 4K and CA always select the 1080p overlay so you can't identify 4K movies, at a glance. This would be a must have feature for people mixing different movies resolutions. Is there any trick?

Devs will have to config but still seems subtitle related. You have a file with 42 subtitles and 6 of those subs are sent hls to the stream. Do you any files with no subtitles to test with?

I have users let me know that episode are missing all the time, as an admin i'm just adding a show and let it be, i'm not going through the shows and confirming. previously a user would let me know they see a missing episode on a show , now, sometimes they dont even know they missed and episode until they realize they missing some plot line in the show and are lost on what is going on.

Yes, this is exactly what users want to see, the missing AND next upcoming episodes, so we know when the air dats for the next episode is and if we are missing an episode, if the library is incomplete, I WOULD SEE IT SAYS MISSING EPISODE. instead of nothing and maybe completely missing an episode because I didnt go and check a burried context menu.

Stop that.. how am i going to see this on my TV.. I would have to open a web browser on my tv to see if there is a missing episode or go through some weird burried context menu's..

I have to agree with @Jarrod561. The standard app is still missing features (like this upcoming section on the video details page, time shifting live TV, etc), plus it still just seems unpolished and a bit jankey compared to the Android TV app. It clearly hasn't been designed for the big screen and I'd much prefer to see this fixed in the Android TV app.
