Yes, I've had it installed for years now. I'm talking the vanilla Android version running on Android TV. The way the D-Pad works with the on-screen controls, mainly. So used to down-right-right-right etc. to get to subtitles etc. I also can't seem to get the subtitle position as low as I did in the TV version, but that could very well be the type of subtitle I had on the 2 movies I tested. Not sure whether I like the bolder, really white timeline thingamabob either. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised I could control server stuff from the app (it appears, anyhow). It was also nice being able to add movies to collections from the app instead of having to do it from the server. I wonder how I managed to never install the vanilla Android version before? Was it not visible until recently on the Android TV Play Store I see on my Shield? Admittedly, I never sought it out, just assumed there were separate versions that strictly depended on my platform.

RC6 uploaded. One change: add option to write log output to a file. Sorry, no log rotation capabilities. The only thing left on my todo list is to reimplement the audit commands so you can see why a file is failing and to update the wiki pages with some more examples. Neither task is particularly "fun" so they might be awhile. Please give RC6 a test run and report any issues.

Not currently using a vpn, that's something we just got done talking about. I don't use a VPN unless I have to do it. Let's start over, a normal person with a Roku device has buffering issues using Roku, swap out the Roku for an Android device Amazon or Nvidia same exact TV, the same exact wi-fi, same exact internet, nothing else has changed except for the device, Roku versus Android...

Hi, did you disable the server transcoding option to allow subtitle extractions on the fly? Try turning that back on and see if it helps.

4.8.4.0-v2 and 4.8.5.0 (which in theory are the same) there's something that's still not working (or it might be an issue with the Windows Emby Theater app). Trying to do this: It hangs on Windows Emby Theater app (Emby for Windows 1.1.553.0), even though it shows as playing (with the timer advancing) on the Dashboard: It has no issues playing on Edge (also direct play) or Firefox (transcode), so I'm not sure if it may have to do with the Windows App or the 4.8.4.0+ update. Hi, what would you have to get used to? We are working on unifying them.

Clicking on any button on the second row in the programs screen of live tv, like so takes you to the list of channels tagged as Sport. Except that: Photos tagged with the same word still bleed into the live tv library. No information is provided on what is on. Compare to the same view when coming from Live Tv > Tags > Sport - 2 less channels and full on now info:

It sounds like you need to setup an ARR stack... Sonarr and Radarr are great for managing files and naming them properly.

I installed the Android version on my Shield unwittingly after a recent factory reset. 1. Has it always been available on Android TV? I see things I like better on it, and other things I'd have to get used to. 2. Is it eventually going to move to 1 app for both platforms? Currently running both side by side.

Well for starters, are the connections from Roku to server and android to server identical? Meaning both client devices on the same network, both using the same vpn (or no vpn), etc? Unless those details are identical then it's an apples to oranges comparison.

Okay but when I switch it out for an Android device the problem is resolved, so you're saying that Roku uses a different port on my server then the 8096? Or is the Android devices using a different ports and 8096? Why is it different when it comes to the devices? Roku buffers Android does not. Does Roku have a way to vpn? Some people are paying for Google VPN and don't even know it, I love my Google VPN it has better speeds than almost all the other vpns.

The ISP can traffic shape their network and alter priority. So YouTube, Sling, other big guys can proceed with priority traffic. Then the little guys, aka anyone else, get their packets delayed enough that it causes issues with buffering.

Hi, we don't have a screen sharing feature. You can only send media to play. Once you activate remote control by selecting your TV, then just play any content and it will play on the TV.

It sounds to me like the disk I/O operations are never completing. can you temporarily enable debug logging, then restart the server, recreate the issue, and then attach the debug log? Thanks.

ISP Port throttling. Are you running youtube on port 8096? Obviously the answer to that is no, so that is why you could see a difference between Emby and YouTube. And again it could be happening on your side, your user's side, or both. If this is occurring, then using different port numbers besides the defaults, and/or setting up SSL are a couple things users have reported anecdotally to get around it.
