Ok the universal Android version is not transcoding non-supported audio is known. I hope this will be fixed soon ... thank you for the info @CBers However, the ATV version DOES transcode non-supported audio if I enabled "Convert unsupported audio to AC3" in the app setting. But the issue arises when I switched the audio from AC3 => DTS-HD MA. It will just direct play it and not transcoding. The audio is in Stereo PCM. Not so enjoyable tbh. ATV is capable of doing what the universal Android version cannot, so maybe a bug in the audio switching department that fails to detect it on-the-fly? If I restarted the movie with DTS-HD MA, it is being transcoded accordingly. So it is weird behaviour and not consistent.

Hi Luke, I attached the logs showing the error I'm seeing on the server side (I replaced my actual server name with `example.com`, fyi). I did a little more experimenting, too: if I watch the video by clicking on it within the "Downloads" section it does save my progress. But it doesn't seem to sync that to the server ever. And If I click on the video from the "Downloads" section again, I get the option to resume. But if I access the episode through some other section (TV, Continue Watching, etc) and go to the show, it doesn't seem to know about my progress (or save it) -- only "Play" is available. It must recognize them as the same video, though, because the "Version" dropdown includes (and defaults to) "Downloaded version". embyserver.txt

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm very grateful that support for the Composer tag has been implemented in the web app. It's a real game changer for classical music. I'm wondering what the plans are for bringing this to the player apps, and Android TV in particular. Can you share any info?

I'll keep an eye on this. I just checked @Luke's reports plugin and the specials column on the series page is all blank. So Emby might not be reporting specials anymore.

Sorry, I found out that the transcoding in Kodi only shows up if you set the number channels in the audio settings to 2.0. Do that and a new setting "Enable Dolby Digital (AC3) transcoding" will show up. Enable "Allow passthrough" and that, and Kodi will do the transcoding.

Alain, You may not see your LG TV in Emby Send Media selection. On my LG monitor TV, adding Kobi and then selecting the app, makes the TV appear inside Emby, so you can cast to it. Maybe there are other ways to fix this. @Luke One last bit of info on this in case it's useful otherwise I think I've pretty much tried all the variations and beat the subject to death. Here's the log from a HEVC 10bit low 24fps framerate (the 60fps samples have the most problems). It played along fine for a few minutes then got the recovering from a playback error on the Android TV app. Resumed it from the same place on the standard Android app 3.3.58 and it continued playing along fine in direct play mode. I moved Play Next (Legacy) to the top of the Menu but it's a PITA to do that on 7 devices. Please don't "Legacy" it into oblivion because we use it at least as often as Continue Watching.

I have the same problem. In the Google Play Store, if you choose to download Emby TV, it keeps asking you for a username and password every time you want to sign in. The best way to avoid this is to download the Emby app only, not the Emby TV app. To use the Emby app, make sure to select the 'remember' radio button.

does it do this setting by default? Whatever the default settings are, but i believe they are transcoding to try to resolve the issue, but doesnt.. at the current time 2 mb setting

I don't want to enter a PIN or a password into the TV, and I don't have kids so have no need for any kind of parental controls. The problem this causes now is I often use Emby (well, used to) via a browser, my browser cache is cleared often so now I need to enter my password every single time. It worked fine before, now it's a complete pain.

Hi. Because that is how it is designed right now - to only show in-progress items - because that row is device-wide. IOW every app on the device is putting things in there.

Because the functionality changed from being an alternate authentication method to an additional layer of parental control and you would only want it on shared devices. You don't want to have to enter your PIN every time on your phone but you may on your TV.

Can you please reproduce that problem and then follow the instructions to send a log from the app?

Just tried it and saw that I'm nearly ready to try it on the live as so far I've had no surprises. I might wait until youv'e finished all the bits and bobs as I want to try a few different configs but I need to read up on the API a bit. Really nice bit of coding

Why do only actual started (in process) TV shows show up on the shield’s play next Home Screen and not any of the continue watching episodes from a TV series that are in emby’s continue watching show up ?

Unless there is something incorrect in the file, "Normal" would be the proper zoom setting. It will pass the video untouched.

At the point I wrote this, I was using Server 2019 which did not have the “disable legacy TLS” option. Server 2022 does and makes the IISCrypto bits unnecessary. However, older versions of Windows Server still need it.

Anything after the first -v has no effect, fwiw. I allow multiple -v in case in the future I wanted to add additional output.

seeing this: But stats showing this: i am in fact missing S10E19, but i only have 148 actual episodes, but i do have 2 additional specials.... stats seems to be once again counting specials in the number of episodes.... this also happened previously too, notice it doesnt say "148/148 + 2SP" like it used to! This was also the same time it seems that the "show specials inthe seasons in which they aired" option also dissappeard.... which means a season that would only have 8 episodes, like fool us season 1, Now shows the count at 9 files in the season, as it is placing the special in both specials AND season 1 so the question here is: is this Stats being broken, or is this a by product of losing the ability to hide specials in the season folders? i am thinking it is a little of both, as stats is missing the SP count, as well as emby itself showing extra episodes (the specials) in season folders, something we used to be able to turn off. this combo has broken my stats, and broken me trying to keep my shows updated, as now i dont know what is not complete. The only fixes i have are to remove all the specials (which would destroy the show, case in point Dr Who, where the specials bridge gaps between seasons) or just have to go show by show (current count 627 shows) and check for missing episodes (making sure to click upcoming, because of the previous issue described above) which would have to be frequent to keep shows up to date. neither option makes sense on a server that is pretty much automated... and still do not know why the "show in season folder" option was removed, and the thread complaining about that choice is growing too.... so respectfully, now what?

Well now that I know it's not an issue but normal behaviour I don't check anymore scan progression in server settings
