DVR temp folder?

Does the DVR use a temp recording folder, or does it record straight into the 'recording path' in the Live TV settings?

Why would it record to both places at the same time? 😆  So, where is the temp folder for DVR recordings?

Why is a good question. It writes to the recording destination path and also to the transcoding temp path while the recording is active.

It may have something to do with being able to start watching the recording after it begins and still active. The file used for playback would already be in the temp path but this is only a guess.

That is a plausible theory @Q-Droid

Do you know if the temp folder has to have enough disk space to hold an entire recording?

All live streams get buffered into a temp file, and then if you are also recording, it will also save to the recording destination.

Thanks @Luke.

Is the temp file created in "Transcoding temporary path"?

Does the temp folder have to have enough disk space to hold an entire recording?  (I.e, it records the whole thing in the temp folder then transfers to the recording destination.)

Hi, Yes & Yes.

Ideally you want the transcoding temp path to be on a disc with plenty of free space as the transcoding folder is used for a few things and needs working room.
