Wasserfall 3
I have a large collection of Live Concerts (Video). These files are not metatagged and most of them are not in any Online Database. I was therefor used to select them with dynamic libraries (so no syncing to Kodi) via folder selection (via the folders on my HDD). This worked perfectly for me. You very recently (Emby Next Gen) changed something, so I cannot longer select folders (at least I do not find this option). I believe the changed happened in about the last 2 weeks. I could get access via 'A-Z' selection, but that is a nightmare. Now I have a lot of options to select from, but no folder selection. Is there a solution for me? Is folder selection gone for good? quickmic 1308
Which version? Should be fixed in beta.
Wasserfall 3
I was on 5.3.2. I now installed (beta) 5.3.3, but I still see no 'folder selection'. Worse, when selecting Video add-ons 'Emby-next-gen', I have now multiple-multiple-multiple entries of every selection (library) I have. Very convoluted. quickmic 1308
Ok, thank for the feedback. I'll try to add Folder selection. What library type (on emby server) are your videos? How is the folder structure? btw, I also have lots of Live concerts. I use (on emby server) musicvideos library type, disabled tag download and finally synced it to Kodi. Wasserfall 3
Library type on emby server is "Gemischte Inhalte". Folder structure is: Konzerte 3 Eigene DVDs (= the library / main folder) Artist (sub folder) Concert folder (one or multiple sub folders) Each concert folder contains the files (video). quickmic 1308
ok thanks. Can you please send me a screenshot of the folder structure? Actually, another user reported a similar issue but was fixed in beta. I'll doublecheck.
Wasserfall 3
Of course. Please see below. And I will try your 'musicvideo' suggestion, too. Edited June 24, 2021 by Wasserfall .

Use type musicvideos and a unique label in case you have regular musicvideos too (as I have). Concerts: type musicvideos, label concerts Musicvideos: type musicvideos, label musicvideos Kodi emby sync identifies content by type and tag (label). Wasserfall 3
OK, I tried a musicvideo library. But I don't see how I can make this work for me. I cannot select between Artists (no metatags, so no artist selection) and no covers either (I have covers in the folders). For now I would use a simple UPNP Media Server, but this is not as nice like the former Emby functionality. With the old Emby folder selection I could select artists and then the concerts. Plus I could easily make Bandlogos (default.jpg in the band folder) and had the covers (concert folder), without the need for metatags. (None of that with the UPNP Media Server, Emby did make the bandlogos and cover view possible.)
quickmic 1308
Could be a naming issue. "Prefer embedded titles over filenames" is probably the wrong choice for you, if you don't have correct metainfo. You can also use the metadata manger (manual approach) or wait till I review the issue

quickmic 1308
What version are you running? This issue should be fixed in current beta.
Wasserfall 3
Some weeks ago I experienced strange problems with Kodi/Emby and my solution was to delete/reinstall Kodi. I then only installed Emby Alpha 5.3.2. I have now installed Emby Beta 6.1.9 and did find the added Folder selection. This Folder selection works just fine (and with the JPGs I saved in the folders (Artist banner, Covers, Fanart) everything looks nice again too). Thank you very much for your support.
quickmic 1308
Folder selection is only available for non synced content. I assume you have synced movies, tvshows and asking why not available there? If so, it makes no sense to use folder selection for synced content, therefore not available. Non synced (dynamic content) offers the folder selection.
Wasserfall 3
No, no question by me. Yes, I am fully aware that Folder selection is only for non-synced content. Which exactly is what I need for my 'concerts collection'. Because for concerts almost no internet databank entries exist and I really do not want to tag my video concert files. Now I can select the files via Folders again. For Films/TV Series I use normaly synced libraries.
