No Multichannel Output, Only Stereo

Hello,

 

I am a new Emby user. I have several 5.1 FLACs in my library on my MacMini. I installed the Emby server on the MacMini, and downloaded the Emby AppleTV app. Unfortunately, all multichannel albums playback in stereo, not surround. I have the brand new AppleTV 4k, and have no trouble playing back multichannel movies, or the new Dolby Atmos tracks on Apple Music. Is this an issue with the Emby AppleTV client? I was under the impression that Emby on AppleTV has no trouble playing back 5.1 music files.

Hi @leefarber, the native apple audio player doesn't support this unfortunately, so we're going to have to embed a custom audio player in order to do this. It is on our to do list for the app. Thanks for reporting.

Thanks for letting me know, Luke. It’s a beautiful app, otherwise. I would gladly pay a premium fir the ability to stream hi-res multichannel FLAC in as close to native resolution as possible (which I guess would be 24/48 due to the limitations of the Apple TV).
