Things missing on Apple TV

Have recently acquired a 2021 4K model.

Will there be options added to make the app more standard, such as the alpha picker in movies (and elsewhere), grouping movies so they're shown as sets, not individually, other things I haven't noticed yet ?

How do I get on the Apple app beta channel (called Testflight I think ?)

And for Live TV, the Channels page is a bit of a disaster - 3 channels on a row, 5 channels on a row, 1 channel on a row...

You can send a PM to @ebr asking for a Testflight invitation. Remember to provide him you App Store login mail.

That has been reported several times @ebr:

This is a part of the tvOS system.  It is the only grid control I've seen that automatically handles grids with different numbers of items in each row but that is just how it behaves.

@speechles suggested this:

@corey Do you think it's possible to apply this solution?

This is a small list of the main things that I find to be missing:

Well yes, but you have to admit, most of those are frilly things to do with actually playing stuff - mine are far more important as they make it much easier to find stuff that won't play... 😀

Should TV 4K play live TV, as so far, it'll play iptv not dvb-s, supplied by NextPVR.

Same for the normal version and testflight version.

The Apple TV app is very poor compared to the MAC version which is excellent.

Live TV  - playing a channel is very basic. To get a channel to play you have to click play multiple times. When it does eventually play you can't do basic functions such as record what you're watching , see EPG, change channel via the remote for see what's on on other channels.

You basically watch the channel but have zero functions except pause.

The MAC version is much better and has INFO, ON NOW AND GUIDE when watching a channel. I won't be renewing because of this as I basically wanted to use EMBY with the Apple TV 4K with the LIVE TV and DVR option.

Try the 1.6.7 release that went out today, now with Skip Intro support.

Also the TAGS option on the MAC app should also be on the Apple TV version.

Yup, we will get there. Thanks for the feedback.
