Samba username/passwort not passed through

When trying to play any video nothing happens. In the Log file (see below) the script is trying to open a stream with the generic terms "USERNAME" and "PASSWORD" while the actual values (x1/1234) are properly saved (as you can see a few lines below). 

 

What could be going wrong here?

Oh sweet lord... the actual password (1234) was actually wrong... this thread may safely be deleted as to alleviate my shame.

No, sorry - the Problem still persists on a different device! This is starting to drive me insane.

I have now a new user on my Windows Home Server "x2" with passwort "1234". All relevant folders are shared for this user.

 

Everything looks fine, all items show up in xbmc, the skin integration works also. This happens when trying to play any video:

The x2 / 1234 combination is definetly correct this time - i have checked with "net use" on the TV-Shows path from another windows system.

Well - the log hides the actual username/password as a 'feature' to prevent people posting logs.

 

Take a look at addon_data/xbmb3c/settings.xml and make absolutely sure it is correct.

Hi again. I have double-checked the password and tried several other accounts - the "permission denied" problem persists on this device.

I went even so far as to create a user "USERNAME" with password "PASSWORD" - to no avail.

I have no idea what is going wrong.

 

Can you advice me what to do / which files to delete to make a "full reset" of xbmc + xbmb3c?

I am using the eminence skin.

Okay now it is working again - I deleted the userdata folder and set everything from scratch. I was unable to resolve this in any other way, though... strange.

I have been having weird issues on my test machine where changes to the settings seem to be getting corrupted.  Do you see this issue?  I am wondering if adding additional settings is screwing something up.  To test, go toggle some stuff in 'Interface' and see if it consistently sticks.  I am wondering if the XML file maybe didn't have the right user/pass.

I also have this, but I'm pretty much always toggling XBMB3C skins on and off, so I attributed it to that. When I change from XBMB3C back to just xbmc (and back again) I leave my advancedsettings alone which leaves mysql database intact. I always toggle theme music off (which resets when I turn an MB3 skin back on) and reset views. I just assumed it would all work if I quit changing it
