For Sure.

This is an screenshot taken from the Web Emby Player running on Opera on a Mac OS computer:

The file is a Matroska file with Forced Spanish Subtitles that are shown perfectly on the Web player.

On the Apple TV, no matter the selection of subtitles selected (by default in this file Spanish Forced), those are not shown on screen.

Even if manually English subtitles are selected those are not displaying.

Does this helps ?

@Luke Not sure, if this is what you're asking for:

IMG_8563.thumb.jpg.2275af4e782c56772265015dfb7a3604.jpg

Had to enable MPV, otherwise black areas in the MKVs x264 and x265 always appeared pixelated.

BTW I've noticed that even audios and subtitles are recognized on the audio/subs configuration:

IMG_8561.thumb.jpg.7a9473a5d77fe4d58cbb947982e7cbc5.jpg

Then in the player the language for audio  is identified always as "Unknown":

Hope this helps.

In fact I noticed that the subtitles problem only happens when there are "Forced Subtitles".

If there are forced subtitles no subtitles are shown, not forced and not manually selected other subtitle track.

If the file has no forced subtitles, then manually selecting subtitles (full subtitles) works.

Catalan language is missing for tvOS app.

@ebr @coreyCan you create language Catalan (ca) at OneSky for tvOS app? I also want to help.

Thanks!

Yes we can, but start with the All Apps project in Onesky because the apple tv app uses that. Aside from that, it has only a small list of additional strings that are specific to the apple tv app.

Yes, I know. I've translated some strings in the All Apps project, It is only necessary to create the Catalan language in the tvOS project to be able to translate the specific Apple TV strings.

Thanks!

Are you sure that mpv is actually enabled?

Those screens are from native player. Native player only show audio track list and subtitles list while direct playing (supported codecs using MP4 container)

@DarkStar1977 Remember to restart the app after enabling MPV player

I've closed the application and restarted, this screenshot is after restarting the app.

Even more. I've restarted the AppleTV device too and the problem persists.

Yes, that's what I saw as well.  @DarkStar1977 can you re-confirm this?

Ok, you're right, let me retest because I've changed this value because black zones where always pixelated with the other option.

You are right, MPV was disabled, but for a good Reason, MPV Quality is not acceptable:

WITHOUT MPV

Well, that's another issue. Forced subtitles are working?

Regarding playback problems. Can you provide more info? (Container, Codec, direct playing o streaming...)

Container: MKV

Codec: x265

Direct Playing

Is HDR?

Native player transcodes that, MPV direct plays. That's the difference.
