Paint 7
I am using the Emby app on two different 2020 Samsung TVs (75in Q90T and a 55in Samsung Frame TVs). I am finding that live TV or any other playback will work but after 5-15 minutes the stream will pause and stop. After a minute or so, it will kick me back to the Emby homescreen. I am then able to resume the playback at where the stream failed. I dont have these issues when using a Fire stick, only when using the EMBY app on the Samsung TVs. I just brought my fire stick to test in the same house, wifi and Emby server-the fire stick works perfectly, while Samsung Emby app will freeze and stop playback every 5 to 20 minutes. Happy2Play 8252
A guess but sounds like the two are using different playback methods ie one direct playing and the other transcoding.

The issue occurs on the Samsung emby app regardless of direct play or transcoding - after 5 to 20 minutes, the stream stops and the emby app times out for about 2-3 minutes. I then need to restart the stream. The firestick works with direct play or transcoding.
Happy2Play 8252
If it were a app issue I would expect more reports. But devs will have to look at logs showing the issue.

Here are the logs for watching Top Chef on a Samsung Q90t 75in (Bergen 1B basement from user Josh) with the latest app version 1.0.88. Playback just stops after a few minutes of watching and then app times out for a minute, then i am able to resume. SamES 890
What hardware is your server on? I can see in the log that it is struggling to keep up, with transcoding speeds less than 1x which is the absolute minimum for playback 09:44:32.962 SegmentComplete=video:0 Index=19 Start=58.158100 End=61.161100 Duration=3.003000 offset_pts=0 start_pts=58158100 Frames=90 filename=hls/93D82D/93D82D_19.ts 09:44:32.962 [segment @ 0xb05700] Opening '/var/lib/emby-server/transcoding-temp/93D82D_20.ts.tmp' for writing 09:44:33.154 frame= 1851 fps= 31 q=29.0 size= 28978kB time=00:01:02.20 bitrate=4038.3kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.99x 09:44:33.755 frame= 1866 fps= 31 q=29.0 size= 29152kB time=00:01:02.78 bitrate=4023.1kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.99x 09:44:34.352 frame= 1885 fps= 31 q=29.0 size= 29404kB time=00:01:03.42 bitrate=4014.7kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.991x 09:44:34.962 frame= 1908 fps= 31 q=29.0 size= 29694kB time=00:01:04.09 bitrate=4009.3kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.992x 09:44:35.555 frame= 1918 fps= 31 q=29.0 size= 29831kB time=00:01:04.54 bitrate=3998.2kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.99x 09:44:36.105 frame= 1938 fps= 31 q=29.0 size= 30104kB time=00:01:05.21 bitrate=3991.0kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.992x 09:44:36.108 [segment @ 0xb05700] Opening '/var/lib/emby-server/transcoding-temp/93D82D.m3u8.tmp' for writing 09:44:36.108 SegmentComplete=video:0 Index=20 Start=61.161100 End=64.164100 Duration=3.003000 offset_pts=0 start_pts=61161100 Frames=90 filename=hls/93D82D/93D82D_20.ts 09:44:36.108 [segment @ 0xb05700] Opening '/var/lib/emby-server/transcoding-temp/93D82D_21.ts.tmp' for writing 09:44:36.606 frame= 1955 fps= 31 q=29.0 size= 30394kB time=00:01:05.72 bitrate=3996.3kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.992x 09:44:37.509 frame= 1972 fps= 31 q=29.0 size= 30582kB time=00:01:06.27 bitrate=3986.2kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.987x 09:45:32.896 frame= 1991 fps= 17 q=29.0 size= 30776kB time=00:01:06.94 bitrate=3969.1kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.533x 09:46:19.302 frame= 1992 fps= 12 q=29.0 size= 30784kB time=00:01:07.04 bitrate=3964.2kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.384x 09:46:19.511 [segment @ 0xb05700] Opening '/var/lib/emby-server/transcoding-temp/93D82D.m3u8.tmp' for writing 09:46:19.511 SegmentComplete=video:0 Index=21 Start=64.164100 End=67.167100 Duration=3.003000 offset_pts=0 start_pts=64164100 Frames=90 filename=hls/93D82D/93D82D_21.ts 09:46:19.511 [segment @ 0xb05700] Opening '/var/lib/emby-server/transcoding-temp/93D82D_22.ts.tmp' for writing 09:47:59.463 frame= 2106 fps=7.9 q=29.0 size= 32174kB time=00:01:10.72 bitrate=3916.6kbits/s throttle=off speed=0.253x
Happy2Play 8252
Not sure why the TV chokes and the FireTV does not, but the only difference in the transcode logs I see is FireTV transcodes the 20Mb stream at 20Mb and the TV is transcoding the 20Mb stream to 7Mb, assuming limit applied to the TV (TranscodeReasons=ContainerBitrateExceedsLimit). SamES 890
Yep, it would be worth removing any bitrate limits.
Paint 7
I dont have any bitrate limits on. The server is a Intel Xeon 6240 Gold CPU (20C/40T) that does not have much load at all. I dont think transcoding is the issue. I have Enable throttling on, which I just turned off to see if that makes a difference. Transcoding thread count: is set to Auto
Paint 7
where else should I be checking to see if there are transcoding bitrate limits besides the transcoding page and each user's settings page? Both of the pages for my user are blank so I assume that means unlimited.

Paint 7
What's weird is if i ever had any transcoding or bandwidth issues with the firestick,it would pause and then restart when bandwidth or transcoding caught up. On the Samsung, the stream never restarts. I need to close the app and resume. If I do wait 5 minutes or so, it will resume playing the episode prior to the one I am watching. Im running this on a 20 core, 40 thread machine with ultra low load. I think the transcoding issue is a false flag....

You shouldn't be having transcoding issues with this processor, but if transcoding rate is not at least 1x then you're going to have issues. It should be transcoding faster than this. Do you have GPU/Hardware transcoding enabled?
