Taking advantage of the topic I have a film that is dual audio (Portuguese and English) Portuguese audio is the standard.

the 2 audio tracks are AAC 2 channels.

But when I change the audio track to English, the change to English is scheduled, but the audio reproduced still remains the same in Portuguese.

I already checked the file on vlc and there the reproduction is correct.

Any tips on how to solve?

If you check all the transcoding fields, is the problem solved?

I only use direct playback, so I convert the videos to h264 and AAC, I would like a confirmation if it is possible or not in direct playback.

Hi, What do you mean "scheduled"?

Is this during playback or conversion?

disclude, the translation was not correct.

I have 2 audios

1 track "Portuguese" (Standard)
2 track "Ingles"

When I start the direct playback I choose the English audio and even then it continues with the Portuguese audio.

So you are choosing the audio language on the detail screen before clicking play?

Are you able to switch audio language after playback starts?

What client & version are you using to reproduce this?

Thanks

Obrigado

Even during playback, audio exchange does not occur.

Tested on the web app and ios app

That would seem to indicate a problem with the media itself.

Can you try other media to see if this is only a problem with specific media or a problem with that particular client?

I tested 2 more files, the problem persists.

Recalling that I do not have transcoding enabled, as I only use direct playback.

the problem occurs on more devices and on other clients as well friend

Having transcoding disabled would surely explain some issues.

If you're turning off automatic functionality in Emby then you're overriding it's decisions. In this case you would need to be proactive and make sure all files you put in your system are direct playable and that if you do in fact have multiple versions that the person playing them is choosing the appropriate version to play.

Are you saying selected secondary audio track will not play?

Can you post the media info of this specific media.

The media information is in the friend images.

All my content is h264 and audio aac.

That's why I don't enable transcoding.

That's also why your selected audio track doesn't play.

It is a pity to have to activate transcoding and stress the server to be able to play movies with 2 audios in AAC format

Any chance that this will be changed?

@Luke So is it correct to understand that Emby cannot reproduce the second audio track present in the file, using only direct playback, without transcoding ??

Transcoding is not done unless it's needed. Transcoding audio is not that stressful to the server as audio doesn't need much resources conversion wise.

Most apps can, yes, but I assume you're talking about the web app. The web browser video players do not have an API to change audio tracks, therefore we have to do it with transcoding.

Based on this, you'd have to ask this question to the browser vendors.

More on the chromecast also transcodes, as shown in the image below.

Hi @drikosv8,  it's the same explanation. The Chromecast developer api does not support selecting secondary embedded audio tracks, so this is why you see transcoding if you select a secondary audio track.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
