emby server build help.

I have dell t710 dual xeaon 64 gb ram 8 x 8tb hdd. But i dont know where to start. All i want is emby server at the same time good backup for my media. The problem is i dont know any computer stuff. Can anyone point me like what OS to use and configuration, and i want to maximize my hardware capabilities. Thank you.

On the OS die I suggest using what you're comfortable with.  Linux and Windows are both fine for this job and there really won't be any value in introducing needless complications from an unfamiliar OS.

As for the rest, the answer is it depends a lot on needs you haven't listed.

• What is the purpose of the build?  Are you serving your media to your house or are you planning for users outside your primary residence?
• How many users will there be?
• If you're serving users outside the primary residence, what is your upstream bandwidth?
• What format are you storing your media in?
• What are the playback devices you'll be using?
