Looking to build a emby system that uses oppo 203 as a player out of a mac mini. I dont have the money for a new faster mac to have the processing power for 4k hdr /Dv and stuck for now with a mac mini 2014, fast for the year...but not now. I have 4k Dolbyvision mkv/ backup (full disk) movies that i know wont process on such a slow machine ...so looking for work around.

if, for now, i focus on having the movies sent dlna to the oppo ethernet port instead of the HDMI in, would i bypass the need for a stronger processor and get by with my 2014 mac mini? Or does it not work that way.

HI, I suppose you could do that. It depends on what media formats your Oppo supports.

It seems to play the main ones im using off usb. Not sure how that changes over a network. Ive gotten everything to play that way (mkv, bluray/4k, mp4, etc.) except dvd. Going to give it a try.

forgive the delayed reply. I saw a shiny penny.
