Movies(not series) without DRM not playing on Samsung tv but playing on EMBY via laptop

I couldn't formulate my questions correctly to find out if the answer to my question, apologies if this topic has already been discussed.

I have removed DRM with DVDFab to series and movies previously purchased on apple itunes store. While the series(e.g. walking dead) are playing fine on my Samsung TV via EMBY, the movies aren't. It's constantly loading and for some it would starts but within 1 seconds EMBY crashes.

Movies and series are playing totally fine via the laptop on emby URL.

I wonder if it has something to do with the video format 720p H264, and may not be able to play on higher resolution screen.

I hope someone can help me out and how to rectify this issues.

Thank you.

Cedric

Is the movie direct playing, direct streaming, or transcoding?

Can you post server and any remux/transcode logs?

What version of the app are you running?

What model TV do you have?

Please post the mediainfo for a movie which doesn't play correctly.

If I were to guess you are trying to play HD audio and your TV is having a problem remuxing and thus buffering.  At least what your describing is a common result of that.

Hey FrostByte,

All data is direct streaming and I have a Samsung Smart TV (UE50NU7470). I'm running Emby 4.5.4.0

Here are the logs and also Joker media info.

Thank you for your help on this.

If the movie is small enough just throw it up on a cloud drive (OneDrive, Google Drive, etc) and PM the link.  Otherwise, use mkvtoolnix and split the movie and post a smaller chunk to the cloud for testing.

Hey SamES.

Were you able to access the movie data?

What does it mean?

I’m out of town at the moment with a very bad connection. I probably won’t be able to download it until the weekend

I just tried playing your test file and it crashes the app.  The spinning the circle goes around and then it crashes.

However, I noticed there are two video tracks in your file.  The second video tracks is jpeg type.  When I remuxed and took that track out the file played just fine.  I've never seen a video tracks of type jpeg before, but it would seem that's what is crashing the app

What if you just remux and leave the tracks as-is?

Ahh, you're right.  Remuxing and leaving the track in and it still worked.  So maybe headers or problems with the container?

Thanks all for your help.

I'm quite at a beginner level with all this. Which would the best way to go about it?

Problem solved!

Mkvtoolnix on unraid did the job fairly quickly. Thank you all for your assistance on this.
