Samsung Tizen update install via USB - requires delete of app first?

Hi all,

I use the USB install for Emby on my Samsung Smart TVs. It updates automatically when I insert the USB on one model, but fails to update on the other TV.
Update fails for Samsung Model UE49MU195 with software version T-KTMDEUC-1290.3
The workaround is to go to Apps > Setttings. Delete Emby. Then insert USB and let Emby auto install.

Is there a setting on the Samsung TV that I need to enable to let the USB auto update Emby when I insert the USB stick?
Or is it just that the update from USB does not work on all Samsung Smart TVs?

Hi, normally this is not required, no, but we have had some users report that they needed to uninstall first. We're not sure why yet, it could be related to what model they have.

Actually, having to delete is the norm and very few sets allow you to upgrade from usb.  This is on purpose because usb installs are meant for testing only.  Installs from the store will always upgrade.
