agraves 2
Emby Server Windows 4.5.4,0 Android 7.0 on Asus Zen pad BETA app version 3.1.76 Started recently, previously fine format video will not play in Emby app directly, gives "NO compatible streams" error. Sometimes will play streamed from the server. Same files all play perfectly in VLC. Prior to this issue I would get the same error between videos but hitting OK would allow the video to play. It gets weirder though, I just figured out it only happens when I have bluetooth headphones connected. Without them it plays everything fine, that's weird, but reproducible. Log definitely indicates an audio track issue (see log snip below), its EAC3 6ch which I know is overkill for headphones but if VLC plays it, emby should too, right? I've attached the log but the important part appears to be this: Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 LocalPlaybackExoPlayer.sendVideoOnBroadcast Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 onBeforePlayVideo Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 ** Available display refresh rates: Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 2048/60.000004 Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 No secondary display detected Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 VideoManager.enableVideoOutput Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 MainActivity.enterFullscreen Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 Playing /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.mb.android/files/Download/TV/The_Middle/Season_9/The_Middle__2009__-_S09E22_-_Split_Decision__1080p_AMZN_WEB-DL_x265_RCVR_.mkv mediaType Video Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 Adding external subtitle streams Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 PlaybackManager state: STATE_BUFFERING Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 MediaNotificationManager mController.registerCallback Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 setOnApplyWindowInsetsListener Window 0 0 0 0 Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 VideoManager.surfaceCreated Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 VideoManager.enableVideoOutput Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 VideoManager.surfaceChanged Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 QueueManager.MetadataUpdateListener.onMetadataChanged Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 onLoadStarted windowIndex: 0 Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 onDownstreamFormatChanged Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 Received new metadata Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 onDownstreamFormatChanged Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 ExoPlayer onLoadCanceled Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 Playback Error TYPE_RENDERER: : AudioTrack init failed: 0, Config(48000, 252, 3151872) com.google.android.exoplayer2.audio.AudioSink$InitializationException com.google.android.exoplayer2.audio.DefaultAudioSink$Configuration.buildAudioTrack(DefaultAudioSink.java:1968) com.google.android.exoplayer2.audio.DefaultAudioSink.buildAudioTrack(DefaultAudioSink.java:855) com.google.android.exoplayer2.audio.DefaultAudioSink.initializeAudioTrack(DefaultAudioSink.java:646) com.google.android.exoplayer2.audio.DefaultAudioSink.handleBuffer(DefaultAudioSink.java:741) com.google.android.exoplayer2.audio.DecoderAudioRenderer.drainOutputBuffer(DecoderAudioRenderer.java:403) com.google.android.exoplayer2.audio.DecoderAudioRenderer.render(DecoderAudioRenderer.java:296) com.google.android.exoplayer2.ExoPlayerImplInternal.doSomeWork(ExoPlayerImplInternal.java:892) com.google.android.exoplayer2.ExoPlayerImplInternal.handleMessage(ExoPlayerImplInternal.java:467) android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:98) android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:159) android.os.HandlerThread.run(HandlerThread.java:61) Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 PlaybackManager state: STATE_ERROR Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 PlaybackManager state: STATE_STOPPED Fri Feb 26 20:36:17 CST 2021 MediaNotificationManager.stopNotification Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 AndroidLocalDatabaseBridge: addUserAction Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 MainActivity.destroyVlc Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 Releasing wake lock Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 Releasing network lock Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 LocalPlaybackExoPlayer.sendVideoDestroyBroadcast Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 VideoManager.onVideoDestroy Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 VideoManager.setAutoBrightness Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 VideoManager.setRequestedOrientation back to original Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 MainActivity.exitFullscreen Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 MediaService.onPlaybackStop Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 PlaybackManager state: STATE_NONE Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 Setting playback to undefined Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 setOnApplyWindowInsetsListener Window 48 0 0 0 Fri Feb 26 20:36:18 CST 2021 setOnApplyWindowInsetsListener Window 48 0 0 0 Fri Feb 26 20:36:21 CST 2021 MainActivity.onPause e65ad3e0-22f5-4f1f-8e49-23196bd9aa6a.log Edited February 27, 2021 by agraves Additional data
Luke 36880
Hi, please let us know if this is still an issue with the next beta app update. Thanks.
agraves 2
Sadly, the issue remains. Some files won't play whether bluetooth headphones are connected or not, others play fine without headphones but not with. Log of both examples attached. d5a188ff-5a26-43d5-b13d-12da9a20d435.log

agraves 2
Well I'm on 3.1.79 now and its different. Now it plays video without audio on the problem files. It might play audio on some that it wouldn't before, I'm not 100% sure. 2df69076-ac84-4f31-8d82-3fdfae468a10.log
Luke 36880
HI, can you please try the new 3.1.80 release? I'm not necessarily expecting this will be any different, but just want to make sure. Thanks.
agraves 2
Sorry for the delay, I'm not sure when I got the update to 3.1.80 but as you predicted, it still only plays some files and it's still only a problem if bluetooth headphones are connected. stuartsharp 3
I just discovered this same issue myself. I have 2 Emby servers (local and seedbox) with a variety of media. As soon as I connect my BT earbuds to my tablet, all I get is 'no compatible streams.' Hadn't experienced it before 3.1.80. Because of this and the live TV issues I've been experiencing for months now, I have now rolled back to the last Android client that I don't have major issues with, which is 3.1.23. I don't think any of the updates since then are really production ready, but of course that's just my opinion and everyone is going to have a different experience depending on how they use Emby. Mine are Cambridge audio Melomanias (same kind of thing as airpods but cheaper and aptX compliant). The tablet I use with these is an old Galaxy tab S (first version). The combination works fine with other software (YouTube, Kodi, Plex etc) or with Emby < 3.1.80.

Hi Luke, Sorry, I'm away from home for the next few days. I've also rolled back my Android clients to a more stable Emby version (3.1.23), so I don't have this issue or any of the others I've been experiencing the last few months. I hope the OP can help. Hi guys, I tested your beta and didn't find any problems at all with BT audio, so that seems like a good fix (at least for my HW). The issues with playing TV channels are still in there, so 3.1.23 is still the optimum version of the Android client for me right now. But it's definitely moving in the right direction. Thanks for the good work!
