File not readable on my TV.

Hello,

I set up an Emby Server on my Mac (10.13.6). My movies are on an external disk.

I can read all my files using Firefox under emby app or directly with my IP. All the movies can be displayed.

On the other side I have a Panasonic TV - TX-55CX680E.

- I can find my "emby server" using my remote tv and I can explore all the files

- But 95% of the videos can't be displayed. I get an "Fichier non lisible" = File not readable.

I tried different settings. I can say all the test videos downloaded from youtube for example can be displayed. But my movies in avi, mpeg... can't be.

What and how can I do to fix this ?

Is it a compatibility problem or a setting problem ?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your quick answer.

I guess yes because most of my files are mp4 and on the manual install, the files supported are these:

AVI, HEVC, MKV, WMV, MP4, M4V, FLV, 3GPP, VRO, VOB, TS et PS

Anyway, when I use my box internet (Freebox) with the same files, they can be displayed. So, I guess the files are ok.

Yes, Avi is on the list I displayed (From Panasonic manuel)

AVI, HEVC, MKV, WMV, MP4, M4V, FLV, 3GPP, VRO, VOB, TS et PS

When I use the box, it's only using the hard disk on it. I put the file on it and some can be displayed, some not (rarely). But even those who can be displayed with the box can't be displayed using Emby server.

May be a transcoding set up to do with Emby ?

What is the video codec of the avi? Does the TV support that?

The codec of one example of file is: H264 - Mpeg 4 AVC (Part 10) (avc1)

When I choose the video test from youtube, the video that can be displayed, the codec is the same. So, I conclude my TV can play it.

I get the codec name using VLC. I guess this is a right way to get it.

The first one works, the second doesn't.
